Nice art deco building but the aquarium itself isn't very large. Still nice but we went there just to shelter from cold :) And to get our children interested in something ;) I mean the place is good but there are other aquariums in the world that are much more interesting. Must see for all art deco lovers

Made a nice change from all our campsite fun. Highly recommended for an outing with kids especially on a too hot or rainy day.

Access with strollers is ok, but getting out back to the city is another story as you have to either go down the many stairs from the garden or take a curbless road down to the parking lot.

Overall ok for a 1 hour visit if it is your first time but not for a second visit, as quantity of live fish you see is limited. I much prefer San Sebastian aquarium, that is 45 minutes drive South from there.

Nice place, plenty to see, but we went there for the kids. Picked up a little train outside it too, for a cheeky tour of the town with some whingebag old dear sat behind us tutting the entire way! Old whingebags aside, the aquarium is a nice place.

Good admission prices, but only one fish tank. Although sharks were good.

This is one of the most beautiful buildings in Biarritz and one of the best aquariums in the world. It was inaugurated in 1935 and it is an Art Déco piece of art. Its main aim is to show the ocean in all its forms. Your visit begins in the aquariums where you can appreciate conger eels, octopuses, seahorses and a multitude of other species, all in a magical atmosphere. There is a beautiful gallery o skeletons and reconstructed models of cetaceans, whales, killer whales and dolphins. You also have the underwater seal observatory as well as the terrace where you can see them resting or being feed at specific hours. The variety is huge, so take your time or go one night..it is the perfect hour to visit this fantastic place.

We used to visit the Musee de la mer very often with our children. But now we are very disappointed. Yesterday, while on a hike in Biarritz, our 3 year old son surprised us in front of the Musee de la mer with his urgent need to go the restroom. When we asked to use the toilette there, the very unpleasant woman at the front desk refused that. In consequence we had to run with a crying child on our arms through Biarritz to the next public restroom.

We know that the Musee de la mer is not a public toilette and we respect that. But refusing to let a small child use it is below everything we ever experienced.

Very crowded during this rainy day, but the ticket teller machine was useful to get us in with our 3 children (2 strollers).

Nevertheless, despite this bad and unfriendly employee, the Musee de la Mer is a superb place for submarine life.

Amazing place and lots to see. Me and my wife do not have an interest in see creatures but that have changed since visiting. Only 14.50 for an pas for adult and I booked my o e online while in France but could not open the PDF with the ticked. Lady at the reception had no problem letting us in after quick look at the confirming email. Must see!
