I've eaten at Au Côte D'Argent a couple of times a year over the last 8 years, including one memorable occasion where I took 12 members of friends and family for a big event meal. The star of the show is the location, particularly in the early evening around sunset, as the restaurant is bathed in beautiful golden light - which is both romantic and flattering. A marvellous set then, for the theatre of food - but what of the actors? Generally speaking the dishes are standards set off with a little flair and well presented. I've enjoyed good Fruits de mer, pork escalope, several cuts of beef and poussin. The chef pays great attention to sauces which have been a highlight. Portion sizes have decreased since my first visit (good for the waistline!) and the winelist has remained continually strong. The dessert trolley and cheesecart however have been the great draws - with a large number of well prepared sweet delights (and a great selection of fromage!). Service is silver-service type, understated and polite. It's not cheap, but it is civilised, calm and a beautiful environment to enjoy good food.

Just been there. Food are great. I booked this place last year when I visited Calais but they were closed for that week. I booked again this time. It is worth the wait. It is not particular busy when I arrived at about 12 Sunday but the place get busy later.

Been there several times. With just my wife and in groups. Greeted and had our orders taken by the owner (wife). Served by polite well dressed young people . Good menu. Not too big and cumbersome . Food is hot , very tasty and of excellent quality. Great wine cellar. The room is well decorated and the location of the Restaurant ensures a great outlook. Cheap? No. But for the service, quality of ingredients, location (close to the ferry terminal ) I think it's money well spent . If you are from UK, remember how expensive good restaurants are specially in good locations. Happy to recommend .

For old people.
Unwelcoming.
Only if nothing else.
The menu is ok, nothing crazy..

Menu "Delice" good value at 25 euros for 2 courses or 31 euros for 3 courses.
Mussel soup was to die for. Cod viennoise was an interesting variation on roast cod, dessert trolley you can choose any 3, I could happily have chosen the lot

Excellent destination for a day out. Friendly warm welcome. Owner is chef and wife head waiter. Wood panelling and decor evoke a nautical atmosphere.

This is the second year that we have done a day trip through the tunnel to buy the family's Xmas wine and enjoy lunch at this excellent restaurant. Even though we arrived shortly before closing time we were given a great welcome. We were treated with the utmost politeness and attentive service. We enjoyed an excellent and unrushed meal together with a delicious wine. The views of arriving and departing ferries through the panoramic windows adds interest to what is already a great experience. We thoroughly recommend this restaurant.
