We're leaving in the same street and tried this restaurant for the first time on Saturday night. It's clearly the WORST restaurant in Abbesses:
- the owner are nasty and don't care about their clients,
- the service is awful, very slow, with many mistakes,
- the dishes were uneatable: meat too hard, vegetables with a weird taste, rotten crème brulée
- uncomfortable seats
- the concert is in a small cellar with no enough place and a bad smell. If you're claustrophobic, don't go there.

Been 5 times to this basement exposed brick venue. Think Talented Mr Ripley and you'll be in the frame. True Beat generation high octane Gypsy jazz. Hasn't disappointed so far.
And upstairs the finest cuisine à la Campagne in Paris. Grumpy service ? Nah just reparti my friend. Relax and enjoy. Comparable with 'Gregory's in Rome.

Was in your jazz bar in January and loved it the guy behind was a good laugh as he had been in Scotland on the whisky trail so we had a fare bit incomen! I will be returning to wonderful city in October so will definitely be popping back into your magnifique bar.T

The man who I assume is the owner was pretty nice. The meal was okay but not worth it for the service. If you are really into Jazz and want to go to this place I recommend eating somewhere else before-hand. The McDonalds down the street had better service than this place.

The woman who was working would not come to our table no matter how much we signaled her or tried to get her attention. We finally got her attention to bring our check and she walked off again after handing it to us, even after we had our cash and cards ready. The only time she acted nice was when we had finished paying. We all looked pretty young and she didn't bother to mention that they have a student discount for The Cave. There are no signs upstairs to explain it but you will get a 6 euro discount if you have your student ID.

This was pretty much the perfect thing to have done on a Friday night at loose ends in Paris. Although it opens at 7pm, the first I could book was 7:30pm. It was nearly but never quite empty. The night's band was downstairs practicing their big endings. The food was great and slow to come. There are an older couple who seem to run the tables, the man speaks English, the woman doesn't understand it even if you are reading from their English chalkboard but is OK with even very bad French. No one bothers you if you read in the corner. You can get .25 and .50 of quite nice wines as well as glasses and bottles. The desert though is slightly insane, or at least mine was.

Worst service I have ever had.

We had to pay for dishes no ordered and they didn't recognized their mistakes. If you want to have a great night, book the restaurant "Les Tantes Jeanne" located in the street just at few meters.

Easy access to walk to from where we stayed.Quite a a lovely little place that lights up when the night life starts, down the road from the Moulin Rouge.Recommend if like Jazz, but check the line up/whose playing before going. There are plenty of restaurants in Abbsses Rue to eat before going as a recommendation.
