I have stayed here twice. The welcome was exceptional as was the food. I ate here exclusively and was very happy with the high quality of the food and wine. I would have no hesitation in returning to Aux Quatre Saisons and I highly recommend it to all.

Fantastisk mat och suberbt vin i kombination med underbar och professionell personal, et voila! Bäddat för en magisk kväll.

Overall our meal cost €50 for two people, this was a complete bargain with the standard of food being so high and the owners and staff being so delightful. We would recommend to anyone, you'll have a relaxed evening in a beautifully decorated and intimate restaurant. A must if passing through the Pyrenees.

This was completely the highlight of our holiday so far. Arrived 7.00 pm,left at midnight! We were wined and dined to the highest standard. Paul,' Le Patron' produced food that did all it should, the cheeseboard, personally served and explained, by Paul was incredible. I know we Brits, well I certainly have have a great admiration for French cuisine, but this really was an experience to be remembered, and guess what? Paul and his other half, both originated from England. If you are in the area,do not miss this high class restaurant, where attention to detail and a personal touch are paramount. Prices? Go and be surprised. Paul,Val and Miguel will offer you an experience not to be missed. Gordon

We came across the restaurant in Axat just as we were passing through and were attracted by the wisteria, colourful fairy lights and green Citroen 2CV. Sold, we decided to go in for our evening meal. We were offered 2 menus, as it was a quiet evening, one of 3 courses for around €19 and one for around €24. The food was excellent, with appetisers included in the menu. We also were able to select cheeses in between our main and dessert which were all local and specially selected by Paul and Val, the lovely owners. This was included in the menu and came with port to wash it down.

Beautiful setting up in the mountains, with lots of activities (walking, running, cycling, climbing, kayak, white water raft). Aux 4 S is a top quality Chambers d'hôtel (owner lives in, no more than 6 guest rooms) where most rooms have balcony and views, air-conditioning, en suite.
Our room has all of this, plus water (and milk) in fridge
Breakfast is large and varied, with BabyBel cheese and fruit to make up a snack lunch. Restaurant looks excellent although no vegetarian options (we ate out but give the hosts some warning and I'm sure they will accommodate).
English host, but with all of the activities locally, there are quite a few English visitors so most of the shops/ restaurants / markets etc will make you welcome and understand broken French, switching to English if you need.
Axat version of tourism is well-kept roads and clear signs to well-kept facilities. Apart from the standards of maintenance of châteaux locally, it's essentially unspoilt
