Walk in to gold, chocolate, and eye tantalizing pastries. One might think you are in a jewelry store, but you're actually in a chocolate shop. My limited French paired well with their limited English and I got my treats to go. I figured I should do a lot of walking this day for all the calories I was about to consume.

It was long time back when I was on business trip to a factory in Lyon .
and we were invited to this Gorgeous Choclate factory.
I was lucky to visit the factory behind the shop and witness the passion of the owner at that time making choclate ... even with Gold !!! Then I tasted the different wawooo tastes of choclate .. It is the best no doubt...And I dream to visit again..

Very good chocolate and cakes, but expensive.

Another note, they do close for one month during the year for holiday...I believe July-August timeframe. I know because it happened to me!

We love Bernachon chocolate. It is widely regarded as one the best chocolatiers in the world. We were on a long trip through Belgium, stopped in Lyon on a visit to our son in Switzerland. We bought chocolate from at least 6 different Belgium chocolatiers, Bernachon of Lyon and then Tristan in Bougy-villars, Switzerland. In a side by side blind tasting, Bernachon outshone all the Belgium and was basically neck to neck with Tristan, which is more intense but a bit rustic. Bernachon is known for supreme elegance, refinement and a long finish. Please do yourself a favor and visit 42 Cours Franklin Roosevelt when you are in Lyon.

Bernachon...I heard so much about this place from my mother, I had no choice but to stop in.

Not a single disappointment in the box, the best mini pastries I have had in Lyon. And the chocloate was just as delicious. If you're near the Bernachon, don't pass it up.
