Avis recommandés
They do limit the number of people allowed in at a time, so I'd recommend to book ahead of time with a time slot as the queue can stretch quite far down the road and around the corner and through a park... I really enjoyed my visit and thought it was a brilliant attraction to see.

One of my favorite activities on my recent trip to Paris. I didn't go the first time and regretted it so I made sure to purchase my tickets ahead of time on my next trip. It's a little more expensive to buy ahead and you have to purchase the audio guide but I think it was worth it to skip the line. I definitely learned a lot about the catacombs and their interesting history from the audio guide. The first half is mostly a mine and then you get to the actual area with the bones. All of us really enjoyed it, I would say it's a must do.

I strongly recommend the audio guide which is an extra €5 and really helps illuminate the history of the place. Chances are you will never have seen anything like the catacombs in your life.

A truly amazing experience, where you walk among the bones of millions of Parisians which have been carefully stored in old quarry tunnels.

A must see in Paris. We arrived at 6pm on a Sunday night. The line was short, did not take any time to get in. The experience was a mix of fascinating and unsettling, but overall I am glad I went. Be aware there are a lot of stairs going in and out.

Great but visit this place early when there is hardly no line. I came here before multiple times and there was a huge line. Early in the morning there is none and we could just walk through. The line is not that big as the eternal line in front of the Anne Frank House in Amsterdam still go early. It is really worth visiting this place.

I also recommend buying your tickets in advance. We didn't because we just winged our days in Paris. We ended up waiting about 4.5 hours, 1 of which consisted of torrential rain. Looking back, it wasn't so horrible. We made friends from other countries, so that was nice. I wouldn't say the wait was completely worth it, but it was definitely something amazing to see.

You should definitely consider booking tickets prior to your visit. I visited the catacombs during it's peak hours and had to wait for 2hrs just to get in. The skeletons in the catacombs are the remains of the people who had to wait in long queues (just kidding).
The catacombs is a overall a great place to visit. Take the audio guide if you're really interested to know about its history. Catacombs is neatly maintained, I'm sure the guy who has stacked the skulls and Bones was a pro in Tetris (just kidding again)

If you like skeletons this is the place. The mine tunnels are cool in summer and it's amazing just how many remains they have arranged here.

To echo almost every review - make sure you order your tickets online beforehand, unless you are happy to queue for around 3 hours. They only let people in very gradually to ensure it never becomes busy underground (in fact my partner and I were often alone in whatever section of the tunnels we were exploring, but some of that will have been luck).

Such an amazing thing to see! It's not for the faint of heart! We spent about 3 hours exploring the catacombs and thoroughly enjoyed it. Try to get there before it opens and you can avoid some VERY long lines. Well worth the price of admission!

The Catacombs were so interesting! I recommended doing the audio-guided tour, as it gives you so much history and anecdotes as you walk through. The visit will be about 30-35 minutes. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes and maybe a light sweater.

Quite an interesting historical site. The wait times are appalling though. There is a very nice gift shop at the exit. They should build a waiting area. The staff laugh among themselves, smoke and completely ignore you while you wait and freeze. Audio guide was good and worth it but they should update their signs to help people select the audio track. You can share an audio guide too.

The atmosphere is quite peaceful and serene, despite the slight creep factor, and the audio guide gives a great overview of the history of the catacombs.

Prepare for a long wait, and buy a long wait I am not exaggerating by saying that you will have to wait in line for at least one hour to two during the day even during the winter. The wait is worth it as there are not many places like this on earth anymore. It gives you and immersed sense of history. Can be quite creepy when you are in certain places by yourself obviously, found it almost surreal how many bodies ended up there and how many skulls that they created walls out of. Be respectful by leaving the bones alone as they check your bags on your way out.

Definitely recommend priority tickets to skip the queue as the lines are ridiculously long and given this time of year, you don't want to be waiting for 2hrs in the cold! Really enjoyed the tour, crazy to think of there being skeletons & bones of millions of people buried under the city. Rich in history, a bit eerie but certainly worth the visit. Only issue is that if you can't walk up and down 100+ steep stairs then you won't be accommodated.

Mildly interesting.
Long lines: I was there mid January (relatively off season) and waited 35 min (I waited 40 for the Eiffel Tower). The guard said it was 2h in the morning.
12€ (10€ reduced price).
What you see in the pictures is basically all there is- which is nice, but Paris has better use for your time and money. A guide might make it more interesting.
