The train ride into Chamonix was very scenic.

Did a day return trip into Switzerland. Helpful staff, no problem buying our return tickets.

The ticket ladies were lovely and helpful but the guard was rude and unhelpful. Shame he brought the atmosphere down. For a high tourist place, he should be more open to answering touristy questions like, 'does this train go to servoz?'

We came out of the season and most of the restaurants, tours, rides and stores were closed. Be attentive to websites that inform the correct date of the tours and rides opened, but even though it is a very charming place with the most beautiful views you will probably ever see in your life!
