This is an 'avenue' leading up to the Eiffel Tower. It's a landscaped mix of grass, gravel, paths and roads depending on where you are. There's not much to be said about it; it's not really an amenity but it does provide some great locations from which to photograph the tower. It is inevitably full of tourists taking pictures.

This place offers a great view of the Eiffel tower. There are vendors that make fresh crepes that taste wonderful. If you are like me and not planning on climbing the Eiffel tower. Then go here eat a fresh crepe sit down on the steps and enjoy a spectacular view.

Was approached by no less than 7 Eiffel tower salesmen, who all tried to appeal to my kids by shoving miniature monuments into their hands. The whole beautiful park area is being renovated. No cafes would let my children pee.
I won't be going back there.

This is where one of the beauties of the world, Eiffel tower is located. The best time to be here is after 8 in the evening. The Eiffel tower will be full of glowing lights until 1 a m. Its definitely a spectacular view. People will be here whole night boozing and lighting cigarettes.

Typical Parisian garden park with lots of space. It's situated right next to the Eiffel Tower and offers great views of this spectacular landmark. It is easy to get to with broad walkways, a few metro stations and several roads, but as always, nothing is more appealing in Paris than walking. There are several historical buildings around for you to explore and this can only be done if you're on foot.

A nice park just in front of the Eiffel Tower. Many sightseeing and city tour buses stop here and you can get on the buses (you can buy the tickets on the bus). Good place to take photos with the tower as the backdrop. Quite a few peddlers selling Eiffel Tower souvenirs when I was there. Can be quite persistent so ignore them if you have no intention to buy. There are restaurants and souvenir shops just around the corner.

Nice for a wak, below the Eiffel tower. Too many street sellers unfortunately. Lacks a really good place to have coffee

Obligate place to visit in Paris. The garden are OK and in some places you can also have a pique-nique. I don't recommend you to buy a beer, it may not be illegal but the wine is better.

Wow! (NOT A GOOD WOW) This may be the biggest let down in Paris. The pristine lawns that you see in the pictures (leading up to the Eiffel Tower) do not exist! What could be a beautiful lawn is simply a bunch of dirt covered with trash and RATS. In addition to the rats, we were constantly being berated by the locals selling wine, beer and cigarettes. The first few times were fine, but after about 5 minutes, you will be approached by at least 10 different people selling things. Even when you tell them no, they continue trying to haggle the price even if you are not interested. Honestly, I'm not sure which was more frustrating, the salesmen or the rats. The only redeeming factor is the view of the Eiffel Tower.

You now need your baggage searched in order to enter the space under the tower so your walk down the Champ de Mars ends in a security cordon. It's a shame but if it makes everyone safer, it can only be a good thing.

Best place to enjoy the view of the Eiffel Tower. Fantastic and unobstructed views during fall, and perfect for taking a stroll or even having a picnic.

When in Paris, one must enjoy the sight of her, the Eiffel Tower.
This place comes to life at night. At the top of the hour, every hour until 0100, one can watch her lights come on.
We had two tours, one during the day and one at night so no regrets, we saw her at all times and then some.
She is best admired from across the River Seine. You will get the best pics from there. You will thank me later.
There are many food vendors as well as souvenir vendors here, a little for everyone in the Family.
They is also always a steady supply of taxis to take you back to your hotel so do not worry.

Large open area where you can get away from the traffic with a stunning view of the Eiffel tower. We had heard to beware of pan handlers and pick pockets, but had absolutely no experience with anyone approaching us. Many people were just sitting relaxing on the grass seemingly enjoying a pleasant sunny day or taking pictures. The atmosphere was mellow and the view of the tower restful, even with the traffic flowing in the distance.

I visited this garden in April 2016. Overall, tons of people out and about. This is a great place to bring a blanket, picnic basket, and sit under a tree to snack and enjoy the view. It is apparently appropriate/encouraged to bring a bottle of wine or champagne (everyone is doing it). Lots of children playing games, dogs on and off leashes, and business people taking their lunch stroll. If you're american, don't feel out of place because this is what EVERYONE will be doing. Be aware of people trying to sell anything and everything from selfie sticks to mini Eiffel Towers. Some will even sell wine & champagne. Wish I could be back!!

Make sure you stay for the light show that happens every hour in the evening, there is plenty of space to enjoy it without interruption.
