Interesting place with plenty of informational text in English and French. The site uses tablets to give you an amazing 3D view of the place as it would've been during it's prime. Knowledgeable staff.

You can also walk to the top of the big tower which affords great views of the castle and surroundings. A tablet with an augmented reality guide (in English) was included and it was neat. Most info is in French and English, though some was much better in French; that's never too unexpected though. There are a lot of great vantages to snap photos from outside of the castle as well. The walls are fantastic and beautiful to behold from outside.

This place is a must see if you're in Normandy. The home of great kings of England and France. To me this is better than Caen.

Rich in history. Surprising structure and quite complex specially considering the bare hot plains i traversed on my motorbike to get here...
Interesting how the British consider William the conqueror Norman, almost English, almost not French! Jejeje

Great museum! Interactive par excellence! Each visitor gets an iPad and is guided through the exhibition. I never had an experience like that.
I recommend it to anyone.

Reasonably priced & a great half-day out if you are in the area. Clearly a lot of money has been spent here! You are given a tablet to show you not only what the rooms looked like in William's time but also convey extra information & even play games and so on for the kids.

Visited with my 4 and 7 year old. We spent over 2 hours exploring the castle. It was a fantastic experience and I would highly recommend a visit to anyone. If you don't like heights don't look down as there's a lot of flooring that is transparent and it is very high up! The use of modern tech to tell the story is brilliant.

Splendid castle visiting experience. Brings history to life in a modern context.

The keep is impressive and the part you have to pay to enter, and it's interestingly restored, with a transparent floor in the central room, and steel reinforcement all around. On the one hand the modern materials look out of place, on the other it leaves what remains of the keep in place, clearly separated from the modern bits, and traversable.

Falaise Castle, birthplace of William the Conqueror, is a must see castle for anyone visiting Normandy. The innovative hand held tablets visitors are given bring the rooms alive and children of all ages as well as adults will thoroughly enjoy a day out here. Highly recommend.
