What a find. We stayed here on our way down to the South of France, after a long day on the road with our two small kids and even smaller dog - it was the perfect respite. Reasonably priced, open all night to accommodate our late arrival and the room, service and breakfast were exceptional. Kids bed and cot were in our room on arrival and we didn't have to do any paperwork - no fuss. Beats the motorway and chain hotels that we normally stay in on these trips. Well worth the few extra pounds.

Attended as guest for sister in law's wedding, absolutely fantastic venue, views were amazing as well were the rooms. Really helpful and friendly staff, especially the one who who make you order in French.

Magical location and chateau hotel has been sympathetically renovated with rooms and decor in keeping with the French Chateau period style. Michelin star rated food and great walks.

Love this part of france. Our stay here was lovely, the charming town of La Souterraine is only 10mins away so we went there when we weren't in the chateau. Food was fantastic and very tasty and our room had a gorgeous view across the lake. Staff very accomodating. Nice to have a walk around the site despite some building works going on,.

C'est un lieu magique, très raffiné

The room was a corner room, great views across to the forest and to the old chateau. Meal was lovely and the little bar is unique. Sad to leave.

Interesting historic place. Lovely architecture inside and out. It's lovely to walk around the grounds, the lakes in particular are beautiful.
