Nice hotel in a good location but I wouldn't call it a 5 star hotel. Our room was at a good standard and the hotel grounds are very well kept.

We really enjoyed our stay. Everyone was really helpful, specially the woman from Spain at the reception.
Only one suggestion about the spa... it was really too busy, we had to wait for the Jacuzzi for 1 hour. One thing that really works well in other hotels is to make reservations for the spa -every hour or 1.5 hour- with a maximum guest per hour. Thanks!

It was very hot in the room. I played with the A/C control but it didn't work. While checking out in the morning, i learnt that the hotel hadn't yet turned on the A/C centrally even during the summer in May! I

Very pleasant stay, the welcome was warm, conversation was offed in both French and English. We were escorted to our room while being given a detailed explaination of the hotels facilities. The room was pressented in clean and comfortable condition there was coffee making facilities (a little more milk would have been nice), in our case we had a good size balcony with table and seating over looking vinyard's with fine views of the area. We arrived late but the staff were flexible and able to accomidate us for dinner in the lovely restraunt. The food was exceptional as was the wine (unsurprisingly), however if I had any concern it would be that the dinning room (at the end we were sat) was very brightly lit which effected the ambience somewhat. The hotels location is perfect for exploring St Emilion and Bordeaux, my wife and I had a wonderful stay at Gran Barrail.

Good sauna and steam room in the spa and the outdoor pool was clean and tidy.

The quality of the room did not meet our expectations. The setting it´s so beautiful but the room can be described as luxurious. The quality they offer does not match the price. The staff at the reception was not very friendly.

A bit disappointed with the choice at dinner. The menu was not a menu for the Autumn. For example pheasant or partridge would have been nice. Otherwise a wonderful stay

Our stay at The Grand Barrail was without a doubt one of the best parts of our two-week stay in France. What a stunning hotel, in a glorious setting, and operated to perfection!! In addition to enjoying the magnificent facilities, my husband and I took a daytime bike ride and a nighttime walk far into the grapevines and little roads in the surrounding countryside. A beautiful experience! Breakfast was a display fit for a monarch!! And the breakfast room, with its exquisite stained glass atrium, is a celebration of morning light. Many thanks to the staff for a perfectly delightful stay, which we hope to repeat.

Francine was marvellous leading the restaurant where the service, food and wine are exceptional. A must for wine lovers and foodies.

We believe there is room for progress on the breakfast that is served in the rooms. It is not very consistent with the 5* rating of the hotel. On the other hand, we would like to congratulate the team on their assistance in the preparation of the birthday celebration on the night of April 20th. Many thanks for that. Christophe

Front desk service was great. We were greeted warmly and escorted to our room. Housekeeping did a very poor job cleaning our room during our stay. Finally, dinner service was miserable. Food good, service very bad. Except for the young, black server, the man and woman who worked the dinning room that Sunday evening should be terminated. Very poor service!!!!! Very poor attitude!!!! Made for a very un-enjoyable, yet expensive dinner. So sad.

The restaurant seemed pricy and didn't offer a lot of choice. The continental breakfast had a good selection with good quality, but they let some of the hot food get too cold.
