Situated at the end station of line Metro M1, this castle impress you by the architecture and its history. The total space is not very large so you can have a short and nice visit. There are not so many tourists.

The Saint Chappelle (Holy Chapel) is a marvel: completely open, spacious, and files with light from the tall windows. The isn't too much to see in terms of other ornaments, statues, or relics, but being empty, bare chapel is even better appreciated. The Chateau itself is fairly plain, but again, beautiful on its own. Dream come true for someone who lived learning about castles as a kid.

Good cattle and landscape, but no representation of the spaces. That day there was a exposition about WW1, which was great.

The castle is impressive. The structure is great and entering the castle looks like we were in medieval time. But once you enter the castle the experience begins to be pretty disappointing. This is because everything is empty inside. Would not recommend for tourist that doesn't have much time here in Paris. Is far and is not that interesting inside.

A true remain from the age of emperors. Unique Castle from the 1300's which is definitely worth the visit!

A castle taken from the fairy tales. Must see while in Paris. It's one of the oldest royal buildings in France.

Some History info -
In the middle of XII century. On the outskirts of Paris in the Bois de Vincennes a royal hunting house was built. The first owner was Louis VII. During the next century, this house was used for royal hunting, it was expanded several times. By the end of the 13th century, the hunting lodge turned into an elegant Vincennes castle (Château de Vincennes), which became the residence of the Valois dynasty. For several centuries the Château de Vincennes witnessed the most important life events and destinies of the French monarchs

Beautiful historic site. Not very busy. Lovely town.

The "Château de Vincennes" includes many buildings but only 2 are open for tourists! the castle and the saint chapel like in the pictures. You need to pay a ticket to enter. This place has a huge potential, it is really beautiful and the history behing these walls is amazing, BUT it is missed. First, you need to do your own research or rent the audio guide (personally, I like audio guides). When you enter, you receive one map with numbers, and when you rent the audio guide, you receive another map with different numbers, so it's confusing. In addition, the rooms are not "enumarate" (I'm not sure about this word in English, sorry), so it's difficult to follow the audio guide and easy to get lost, specially in the castle.

Very cool place to visit. Audio tours in multiple languages. No handicap access in castle area. Original stone staircases only. Really great gift shop with lots of high end items for kids, and plenty of books with authentic old photos.

It's quite a big castle. It looks great, but it is not so interesting.

Nice visited and nice to walk around the surroundings. Didn't pay to see the inside of the Keep or the Chapel; maybe next time. Nevertheless, got a great sense of this historic place. Not a bad place to visit if in the area, but no need to make a special trip your not in the area.

One of my favourite medieval castles around Paris. Unfortunately it is not furnished any longer but the castle's history is worth the detour. For all amateurs of the middle ages, I recommend it!

Beautiful 14th/15th century fortress in France. Just a one hour train ride. Definitely worth the trip!
