To my surprise, I got an email from the hotel two days after the dates I canceled, telling me they were charging me for 2 out of 3 days I booked due to a no show. I was shocked, but figured it was just a confusion and the hotel would understand when I explained the situation. Wow, was I wrong. To make a long story short, they insisted I made two separate reservations and only canceled one of them (despite my email evidence that shows I ONLY corresponded with them about the ONE reservation with the same number in every email and the email asking about why the online reservation didn't match the email confirmation). After 2 phone calls I paid for and many, many emails, they refunded one night, but still charged me $160 for the first no show night because they insist there were two reservations ( Or at least I think that is their point, their English is hard to figure out at times).

All in all, I will go elsewhere on my next visit. I just don't trust their policies or customer service. I had been so looking forward to this visit! C'est la vie.

Good hotel located in the center of the town of Bayeux. Its hall and common spaces contains a rich collection of uniforms, equipments, pictures and other objects of the D-Day.
Good quality-price ratio, very kind staff, good location for visiting the town of Bayeux and good for using it as a base for day long trip to the D-Day beaches.

Very nice hotel - very accommodating staff. Clean rooms and good food.

I am still appealing this with my credit card company, but what upsets me most is that the manager would not return either emails or phone calls even when I went out of my way to leave messages and call at the exact times I was told he would be there. I was also told several times by the desk clerks that they would not talk to me further because they had guests to assist (usually these conversations were 2 minutes in length, so I wasn't haranguing them) . Needless to say, this seems extremely unprofessional. I have NEVER had this problem anywhere before in my life, so I am still shocked by their inability to explain how this is my fault when I have all the evidence to show I canceled the reservation.

Happened upon The Churchill Hotel on a bike trip, Found the staff and room fantastic. Would highly recommend. We were made feel right at home and the advice we received on the surrounding areas was crucial to our touring. Many Thanks and we'll defo be back :-) :-)

We enjoyed our stay here last June. We had no booking and were fortunate to find the Churchill on a Friday evening. Comfortable, roomy, great breakfast and friendly staff both that evening and next morning at checkout.

Beware of making a reservation here if you are not completely sure of your plans. I booked this hotel online and wanted to change my reservation but could not figure how to change it online without canceling it completely and losing the rate I got. I emailed the hotel about the reservation, and the clerk changed it to my new dates. I noticed the online reservation did not reflect the updated changes, but I was assured by email that that THAT reservation number had been changed to my new dates "in their books," so I figured that they were using an outdated system. Later, I decided our trip was going to be too rushed, and I would rather come back for longer, more leisurely visit later in the year, so I canceled the reservation online and got a confirmation that the reservation had been cancelled. I did this over a week before the visit.

In my last correspondence, one of the employees told me that the owner was upset that he waited up ALL night for us. I do understand that would be frustrating, but they had my correct cell phone and could have called and left a message asking me if I was arriving, but there were never any messages on my phone. It seems only normal to call at midnight if you are waiting waiting up for just one person (also this seems to imply they don't have 24 hour staff, which might be an issue for some. I would not want a hotel with no security myself).
