I gladly took an hour of my holiday to write this on my mobile at the pool on the wifi provided.

Brilliant place for a holiday, very relaxing, owners wonderful , courteous , hard working and friendly.
Cannot understand bad reviews. We have stayed there twice a year for last 10 years and cannot recommend it enough. Wonderful walks through the woods to the coast . Very relaxing, would not go anywhere else.

I advised Simon not to feed the trolls and hope he'll forget the silly threats made against him and his family.

We are just finishing our second time staying here and will very likely return if scheduling allows. We are two families meeting here, hailing from Germany and Ireland 2 kids each ages 2 to 8 and all had a great time again in the "Le Pressoir" gite.
I read most of the troll's post below and can honestly say that nothing of it is true.
We had no qualms letting the kids, especially the 2 year old roam free on the grounds.
The dogs can be petted, just one of them will walk away if the kids are shouting and running. The playground consists of two swings, a hanging bar, a wavy slide and a handful of tricycles etc.
The equipment is not new, but solid - public playground quality with nice, three meter high bars.
The gites are decent and well equipped. Cot and bathtub for babies are present, which came in quite handy.
Even though there are multiple gites, each one has it's own space for privacy.
There were a few flies that unsurprisingly came unbidden when we left the door open all day long when the weather was good.
No trace of an infestation of any kind - the chickens would have had a field day! (Thanks again for the fresh (still warm!) eggs, Simon!)
The pool is clean and has a nice size. Temperature is usually perfect for exercise, after some sun also for the kids playing. It can be heated further on request, but we didn't feel the need this time.
All in all a nice, quit place to stay, equipped for sunny and rainy days, family friendly to boot.

We have been to Coat Aillis every year for about 20 years, yes honestly! We used to go when our children were small and they loved the relaxed atmosphere, pool, games room, large grounds and easy proximity to the sea. Now they are grown, we still go to continue enjoying this relaxed, easy-going atmosphere. The owners always have time to chat if you wish. They are a wealth of information, so you can get the best from the area and your holiday. We love our breaks there and fully intend to return this year.

I'm already planning my next visit to Coat Aillis. Always a great experience, the owners Simon and Paulien are the ideal hosts, helpful, attentive and always willing to share information and answer any number of questions. I was lucky enough to be there during their "Jazz Week" last year, and will definitely be there again for the next one. Highly recommended

Many thanks to Simon and Pauline for their kind hospitality. See you again soon, I hope.

First time here but my wife used to holiday here as a child, it is so relaxed it's unreal! Hosts are amazing, they know every guest past and present by name. They have a pack of farm dogs that follow them around who are the sweetest, greeting you every time you drive back in. Some info for future visitors. (For us fussy Brits) The water runs on it own dedicated filtration system so tap water is good to drink. If you bring a dog make sure they are ok with free range chickens if not a long lead is advised. There is a local town with a supermarket and petrol station just 5 min drive away. This place is beautifully rustic, back to basics with some modern appliances, (dish washer, washing machine ect). Hoping to come back again!
