We went to Saint-Aubin to find a non-commercial and more familiar place for a wine tasting, but without having a particular destination. After driving through the little village streets we passed the entrance of the Domaine Bernard Prudhon just next to the wine-yards! We decided that this would be the perfect place and entered the patio. Because Mr. Prudhon was on his way to leave for a few minutes he kindly asked us to wait until he comes back. We took a seat in the patio and after some while his daughter Élodie appeared and told us that she can do the wine-tasting. To not let us wait too long her father gave her a call because he expected to be a few minutes late.
We started and she gave us a lot of very interesting information about everything related to the wine growing business and we had the chance to ask all our unprofessional questions. The wine tasting in their nice wine bar was great! She took her time to explain us everything about the different tastes of their wines and the regions where their wines are grown! They have very lovely white and red wines of which we finally ordered 14 bottles ... for very very fair prices!
In summary, this is really how a wine tasting has to be ... great wines, no rush, non-commercial and free of charge, many information in a familiar atmosphere in the middle of the wine-yards and of course lovely wine makers! Thanks to Élodie and Bernard!
