Good view from the top . Great architecture . Interressting film . But you cannot visit the cellar with all the bones ,you only see them through small windows .But you need to respect the dead.

Feel the soil here, smell the earth and air and touch some mud, feeling its sticky nature. Observe that beyond the grass are perfect circles in the woods and remember that tens of millions of shells fell where you are. Listen with your soul at a place where 1,000 people died a day for 300 days and feel the pain of millions. Don't speak loudly as this is a reverent place and look at those graves where people needlessly lost their lives.

It was a beautiful and sorrowful experience. I only wish I had more time to explore all of Verdun.

Very impressive monument, a must stop if you are at Verdun. Respect and honer to fallen soldiers from all sides and all countries.....I was a bit shaken from the experience... the colors.... coldness ....architect has placed a lot of concept into the monument.

This is a very impressive building located uphill the French cemetery.
On your way to or from Fort Douaumont make a stop here. The main hall is free. You'll also have a great view over the cemetery. 4 stars only because there is not much information available.

This is the site of the French national cemetery to the fallen of the great wars. There is a good days worth of things to see all within the area. Fascinating is "the trench of the bayonets".
And as it's not rip off Britain it's all free. The Verdun area itself is spectacular.
