I like this ferry service as it is unpretentious and very good value for money. It also takes 30 mins longer than Calais /Dover and that is a good length to have at least an hour's snooze. On the boat, I usually book the lounge where I get a snack served at my seat and there are drinks, biscuits and fruit available.
I did not rate it higher because the facilities mentioned look dated and the toilets are not well maintained.
The building in the harbour is very unattractive. The toilets upstairs are always out of order, and there is no notice downstairs to make one aware of it. There are no facilities other than toilets in this building, that is actually big enough to accommodate an army! I wonder what its purpose is?

Good service from DFDS serving the Dunkirk to Dover crossing. At busy times during crossing it may be difficult to find a spot to rest. Nice food on board. Has Costa coffee too. A shop where you can get a bargain for perfumes, chocolates etc. When disembarking at Dunkirk, when in your vehicle, it is wise to memorize the GPS location as if you may need to catch a return ferry from here and it will be easier as it is in an industrial zone and the sat nav may play up. In good weather the outside deck is open and those who love taking photos will find plenty of opportunities.

Not the greatest bit of direction signage I've ever experienced.

Sorry and apology for not being able speak in French and place my heart felt review. I have had the greatest experience regarding the Concern and Amazing "Help / Assistance" given me from Caroline D and her supervisor Stephane D, from the the Ticket Office at Dunkerque Port, on the morning of 21/09/2017 (their Ref 19562563).
I had a situation with my legs and was unable walk or wear any type of foot wear. Caroline was kind enough to take photos of the state and condition of my legs and with this, went to her supervisor regarding my condition / situation. Long story short, they called the ambulance to check me over and wanted to take to me to the Hospital (they arrived so quick, and, I truly hope someone is able / can pass on my respect and gratitude to the 4 man ambulance team - who arrived at 11:13). I have more than just great admiration for both Stephane D and the "Angel" called Caroline D, for her personal persistence in dealing with me through out the situation. Caroline is a humanitarian of superb people person qualities. I can only say I am indebted and will always say / feel in my heart what an extraordinary person Caroline D is. DFDS has a great team and in particular have 2 very important colleagues, particular Caroline D. in their team. Thank you for what you guys did for me on that Thursday.
Now to send it to DFDS UK and French offices and hope they contact parties concerned of what great people they have working for DFDS. Roy A Pearson

Arrived here at 02:15 for a 04:00 sailing. The fog was so thick that I couldn't find the terminal!!! I actually ended up in the HGV line!!!
