This is the single most touching, poignant place I have ever been; the scale of loss from World War 1 hits you the moment you reach the end of the entrance path and get a first glimpse of the graves of 10,000+ people who are laid to rest there.

The cemetery is maintained impeccably and after spending just an hour or so there, is something I know my daughter and I will never forget. A very sad place, but if only everyone could see it, maybe the sacrifice of the soldiers who lie there would be all the more worthwhile, as I defy anyone to go to war after looking across those lawns.

Couldn't believe how enormous this cemetery is. Graves as far as the eye could see.....and one lonely china-man.
