I took out extra Medium Protection Package with Europcar - just in case.

We had a good week with the car - not an extra blemish on it when returned. They checked the car over when returned, with no extra scratches marked down. So it was signed it off to them. Little did I know that 10 days later I found that I had 2 debits taken from bank - relating to damage to the car. This amounted to an extra £683 pounds. It has taken nearly 3 months for Europcar to respond to my very angry email. Long story short, they refunded me the extra damage cover they charged me for, but not the rest, so I am about £400 down.

My advise, DON'T USE THEM, they are theives and dishonest.

I rented a car here. The price was 197,10 euro. The lady at the desks asked me if I wanted extra insurances. I denied. She let me sign, in a hurry, and I went off. Coming back, they took the rental contract from me and said I would get a copy of it the same day by e-mail. That never came.

Doing such sort of tricks is only done by criminal organisations. I assumed Europcar is not a criminal organisation. They simply stole my money.

The worst service we have ever experienced. After an hour long wait to get our car we were given a faulty car. We have now been left in rural France with no car. After hours of phone calls to Europcar assistance we are being told we need to make a 2 hour trip to pick up a new one. We have been unable to contact the Bordeaux branch despite calling many many times. Europcar you are a disgrace.

I arrived at the airport looking for a car reserved by the ADAC from Germany. As I did not knew which company to go because my cell phone was not working I lost nearly 1 hour at the airport - until I came to these very kind lady from Europcar. She really helped me out by letting me have a call to the ADAC. Luckily she had one car left that had to be brought to Germany. She arranged everything with the ADAC company and 5 minutes later I had my reservation and my keys without any problem. The car - a Renault Megane - was very well equipped and drove very economically as well. Thanks again to you nice, kind an helpfull lady from the airport.

My friends and I picked the car up from Bordeaux airport. As usual, they went around the car and marked every scratch before we drove off.

Des voleurs ,escroquerie.... Nous avions réserver une Audi a3 nous avons eux une OPEL MOKA après 45 mon d attente avec un bébé la blague et la réponse au guichet face à notre mécontentement c est la même catégorie si sa ne vous va pas c pareil et le véhicule même pas en bon état mécanique .... Pourtant je suis client europcar à Paris et Hyeres les palmiers depuis plusieurs années et c est bien la première foie que je voi sa ....

Now I got the invoice and it says I had an extra insurance for tires and glass. This is absolute untrue. If this contract has my autograph, I was tricked.

Easy to find, quick to return. Courteous staff but you have to park it yourself then walk back to the kiosk with your luggage then retreat to the terminal.

They're usually all the same but Europcar takes the biscuit. They'll rip you off somehow - for an admin fee of £60 for a an existing scratch which would take 3 seconds with some T-cut but they charge £84 for or from the staff that lie to you when they say the scratch will only cost £10 and then wave you on to your plane and just bill you. AVOID!

Terrible experience with Europcar Bordeaux. All kinds of sham charges applied, run a mile before giving them any of your money.

Yes terrible as well, we booked a Renault Seneic back in March for a June pick up date at the Bordeaux airport, they didn't have one arrival so we were going to give us a small Fiat which was way to small for 2 adults and 2 kids travelling for 67 days so we had no choice but to upgrade for what they said was an extra 10 Euros per day....again for me I had to sign something in French and when my card actually got charged it was way more and when I finally got a hold of the invoice copy there was all these extras per day factored in, when I queried it and said that we were told only 10 Euros more per day they said well I signed the agreement for the extras, but I said it was in French and I had no idea I was just going off what the lady at counter told me, all they said was too bad I signed for it! And that's not all to top it off we had a major car accident 4 days out from returning the car which was not our fault, I spoke to 4 different people over the phone trying to get to the right area to advise that we had actually had an accident and NOT ONE of them asked were we ok but apart from that I was told at their counter in Paris that there was nothing more to pay as we had paid the higher insurance so that bought our insurance excess down to zero.....but sure enough when we got back home they had charged us another 1,350 Euros as excess !!! Again I queried it and they said they are entitled to claim it until they have confirmation from the other parties insurance that WE WERE NOT LIABLE...it is now almost October and I am still battling to get my money refunded from back in August !!!
Stay clear, horrible to deal with, no customer service whatsoever
