Visit right before the closing time. Fortunately. The last bus full of tourists was leaving. Relatively few people. Nice, quiet place. Relatively expensive tickets. But no regrets.

Lovingly preserved (English) audio guide would have made it 5*

I love architecture and this reminded me of so many other places that I've visited with colonnaded cloisters. This is in great shape for it's age. Well worth a visit if your in the area.

A real treasure the garden and grounds were beautiful on an spring day. The buildings are very well maintained. A must see.

You should prioritize a visit here. Recommended especially for nice weather days and when need a little peace. We went in mid-August and place had no crowds...made for great photos and videos. Take a lunch of sausage, cheese and bread and chill on the grass. For the car-less or ambitious, there is a trail from Montbard that cuts through the forest, but it is hard to find and follow sometimes (a google search can give some hints). Has some steep parts so wear good shoes. It is a nice walk, though the return walk could be less fun.

Absolute must to see. Beautifully restored and maintained. Very serene

Exceptional place. Unique as each Cistercian place is.
Here are beauty, silence ,contemplation.
Here are medieval intelligence, ability, craftsmanship and balance in the hands of modest powerful believers at their best.
Forget the world and its noisy nonsense! Enter each building with the respect you owe to the work of something beyond you.
Don't interrupt the prayers of the stone, the blessing of light, the call of silence.

A must go in this area. Nice and quiet, with rich history which often ignored.
