We stayed right beside the Gare. We were robbed and pepper sprayed. Be careful around here at nighttime.

A really bad place. The staff is too slow. Had to queue to buy a bus ticket for 1 hour and therefore missed the ride!
Well connected with other parts of the city and airport.
Still way too dirty. No toilet after midnight.

Ridiculous station. We arrived st 21pm and has a train at 5am. No free toilets. Only paid toilet closed at midnight. To satisfy a basic physiologic need you have to pay. Ended up pissing in the street, outside.
At 1am everyone was kicked out of the station so they could close and re-open at 4am. Spent 3 hours out on the cold. It is inhuman.
In my country (Portugal) we open the stations so homeless can have some shelter, this station could at least think about their clients.
Ridiculous station.

As soon as I stepped out the door this guy ran up to me speaking French. I told him I didn't understand and within 30 seconds I was surrounded by sketchy guys shouting "hashish, marijuana, hashish", shoving bags of brown stuff under my nose, rubbing their fingers together asking for money in French and bad English and making a scene. Meanwhile 30 feet away four gendarmes armed with machine guns were standing around looking bored. Ridiculous. I don't mind a little illicit activity in any city but this was blatant drug pushing with rival gangs operating openly in the most prominent station and being completely ignored by the authorities. Want to clean up Marseilles' image? Start here. Not a great first impression.

This is the worse station ever. My luggage got stolen and i reported to the police there. However they said they cant help me and started looking at youtube videos and laughed - ignored my existence. No wonder people choose to do crimes in this place. The french police is useless. Their behavior at that moment made me felt disgusted and unwelcomed. I didnt believe Southern France is unsafe, now i do.

Very nice train station and modern. IT has been refurbished a while again and is now fully functional for everyone including disabled people. The time board is clear enough and they do voice announcements for the departures and delays. There are multiple ways to get to it and is very well located within Marseille.
