Modern, efficient.
Helpful staff.
Crowded during summer time.

Time and time again I've had horrible experiences from a variety of sources. It's chronically understaffed, the kids are dodgy, the neighborhood is rough.aviid this place if at all possible

Quite nice and informative sign all around the station.
Also has arrangement for physically challenged people.

Really nice, clean & posh toilets at this station. They charge €0.80 to enter, but it's totally worth every cent! :)

Ridiculous station. We arrived st 21pm and has a train at 5am. No free toilets. Only paid toilet closed at midnight. To satisfy a basic physiologic need you have to pay. Ended up pissing in the street, outside.
At 1am everyone was kicked out of the station so they could close and re-open at 4am. Spent 3 hours out on the cold. It is inhuman.
In my country (Portugal) we open the stations so homeless can have some shelter, this station could at least think about their clients.
Ridiculous station.

Looks like a large confusing train station; it is actually very easy to navigate. Other then the French train lack of organization it was easy to find our platform. The trench train system is lacking! When you arrive at the station finding your way out is easy; arriving late a night is a bit nerve racking as they like most French cities have a major homeless problem. You end up walking through a large n8umber of homeless people leaving the station. The smell is much the same as an outhouse.
When you use the station to depart it is a system of disorganisation! You get to station and your platform will not be posted on the boards until 20 mins before departure. For us here is was 10 mins before departure. So them you run to your platform.
Once there you have no ideal how the train is pulling in, which wagon first? so you wait for the train to pull in to see if you now how to run to the back of the train to get in your wagon.

As soon as I stepped out the door this guy ran up to me speaking French. I told him I didn't understand and within 30 seconds I was surrounded by sketchy guys shouting "hashish, marijuana, hashish", shoving bags of brown stuff under my nose, rubbing their fingers together asking for money in French and bad English and making a scene. Meanwhile 30 feet away four gendarmes armed with machine guns were standing around looking bored. Ridiculous. I don't mind a little illicit activity in any city but this was blatant drug pushing with rival gangs operating openly in the most prominent station and being completely ignored by the authorities. Want to clean up Marseilles' image? Start here. Not a great first impression.
Pretty building and view +1 star.
