This place is packed full of tourists who think they have found the real experience, it just reeks of a sad forgotten era

Nice atmosphere, cozy ambiance but with only okay drinks. Bloody Mary was good but very, very basic. I'm glad I went but it would be better to go with a group. I was out of place solo and treated a bit like an oddity. It wasn't as "friendly" as advertised and the drink I ordered didn't really taste like the drink. Go for the atmosphere with a group, and the history but not the drinks.

First floor looked like any other bar, the cellar gave me a good surprise! Good ambience!

It has absolutely nothing on Harry's bar in Venice.

Drinks are of the same quality at either time, just don't expect super snappy service when its busy.

The classic cocktails were some of the worst I have ever had and the barman made no effort of hiding the use of cheap canned juices. The result reminded me of drinks we used to knock back before going out at university: cheap tasting and nasty. The disinterested barmen working on Saturday night didn't make any effort at all and the bar was souless and charmless.The atmosphere reminded me of some sordid bar in Oberkampf, which in its hayday was packed full of well dressed gentlemen and ladies. It has become become a place where tourists flock to.

Good bar in Paris. Downstairs is cosy and has live music in the evening. Upstairs is more casual

The jazz bar next door offers something that is truly 5 star.

Stylish, cosy, vintage-elegant bar and decor, with professional-friendly servers. Drinks are a little overpriced but would still go back. The Bloody-Marys were delicious. Good nibbles.

They put vodka in the French 75s, a gin based cocktail. They cheat you out of an experience for someone who loves a good French 75, the supposed home of the drink.

Great, historical vibes, friendly staff, decent cocktails. Overpriced but I still love it

Note to management: bring back the classy atmosphere that it once was, have a dress code, use fresh ingredients and train your bar staff to be friendly, welcoming and tell us stories about how it became.

What a cracker. The oldest cocktail bar in Europe having been standing since 1911.

True New York bar feel inside with atmosphere. If you want to enjoy some banter and history with the bar tender head in just after lunch. If you want to feel what a bar is like when completely busy, head in a little later.

It's a pretty bar with some good history and delicious cocktails. The Bloody Mary was among the best I've had -- just enough, though, that the bar merits two stars instead of one. You see, the service we received was awful and the drinks were ridiculously expensive -- 30 euros for two cocktails. Despite the price, we would have had another, but our server was so inattentive, we changed our minds before we could order a second round. It was clear from their expressions that other patrons felt the same. If you must have a drink there, order the cheapest on the menu. Then take the rest of your money somewhere else where it will be appreciated and you will be treated accordingly.
