First you need a car..as the Tram is 10/15mn walk away...if you don't get lost looking for it.
The hotel is clean, room is clean, but very basic. I was dismayed there were no power socket beside the one the TV was plugged in...so charge your phones, tooth brush and tablets in advance. There is no kettle, iron either, not could I get one when I asked for one.
I needed to book a taxi but there was nobody at reception on a Saturday lunchtime, or Sunday late morning.
There is a Grand Champ supermarket across a car park but forget it, it's expensive and only good for locals (though the side bakery smells heavenly)
There is a Centre Commercial Leclerc under 10mn walk away, and that's much better if you've forgotten cotton buds, tooth paste etc.
From the Hotel to Part Dieu, which is the main hub in Lyon, count 40mn (15mn walk to Tranm T3, then 20mn on the A line tube.)
If you land at St Exupery...take a Car du Rhone Line30 to Meyzieux ZI (2€)..then a Tram T3 to Meyzieux Gare (same ticket) and from there walk 15mn. No taxi ranks nearby.
For football fans.....it's across the motorway from the new football stadium being built.
