Beautiful place, friendly staff, lovely pool and quiet garden rooms. This is the oldest hotel in St Remy. Delightful breakfast in the outside cafe area. Van Gogh walk and wonderful live music in the narrow streets in the evenings.

We absolutely loved both Hotel Gounod and St. Remy and wish we spent more time there. We were supposed to stay in a nearby town where we reserved and paid for our room months in advance. Just before leaving for our 3 week Europe trip I emailed all of our lodging options to re-confirm our reservations. One of the hotels we booked double booked our room and told us to look elsewhere. I had to quickly find new lodging and was lucky I found Julie Mautner who runs a blog dedicated to the Provence area (The Provence Post). She told me about the quaint, centrally located town of St. Remy de Provence which we absolutely loved and connected me to the great operators of Hotel Gounod and the kind staff quickly booked us in a very nice room. The hotel, the grounds and the staff exceeded our expectations and we wanted to stay longer but our itinerary did not permit. The hotel appears to have gone through a renovation as the decor and other features appeared updated compared to some older photos I saw online. The room was large, clean, bed comfortable, nice linens, great air conditioning, good wifi, nice bath soaps and products etc.. The garden was beautiful and at all hours of the day and night the staff was kindly available to serve drinks and snacks when asked. The staff was very attentive like a waiter at a restaurant might be. We especially enjoyed relaxing at the nice pool and having a glass of wine in the courtyard garden at night. Though we ended up here by chance, we are thankful to have found Hotel Gounod and will intentionally visit St. Remy and Hotel Gounod but next time stay 4-5 days. If you are considering St. Remy you will not be disappointed, Hotel Gounod is a fantastic place to stay. Thank you to all the staff for such a great experience!

Hotel well situated and rooms pleasant although small. But nothing prepared me for the overpowering smell of incense and the shrines and religious statues.
We booked out earlier as the smell of the incense was giving my husband a headache.

Un hôtel magnifique dans un contexte splendide. Un personnel parfait et des chambres très bien faite et romantique ! Un petit coin de paradis en Provence !

Incredible. Parking was honestly the only shortcoming. The hotel is like Alice in wonderland
