Basically, the room is great, the breakfast is overpriced for what you get and the service is abysmal. (Yeah, even by French/European standards). It is a shame because their sister Hôtel Mercure in Brest was AMAZING. I'm giving them a five star review. It is really a case study in how big a difference service makes. I can find a nice room lots of places, so I see no reason to return to this hotel in Rennes. From the impersonal check-in, hurried and bad directions to a lunch destination, bungling our airport taxi request so that we were 30 minutes late leaving with the barest apology. Yeah, we're not going back. They should gets some tips from the staff in Brest about how to properly handle hotel customers.

Great located, few meters away from the city center but rooms are not really small, cleaning was not irreproachable. There is no room service during weekdays. Buffet which is basically serving tarts and cheese boards instead. Fitness room is in front of the breakfast room, with glass windows..

Clean hotel close to down town.
Initially in response to my question about breakfast they said the breakfast is complementary, but in the last day I noticed they charged me for breakfast! After explaining the situation, they didn't void the charge!
Make sure they understand the questions you are asking in English!

Good mid price business hotel. Very close to lots of restaurants and public transit at the square. Good breakfast.
