L’Atelier des Artistes is the kind of place you wouldn’t expect to find in the 11th arrondissement, usually more underground and unconventional. However, the existence of this restaurant-bar evidences that the area is slowly morphing to something sleeker and kind of posh. Anyway, since its opening in April 2013, the place has become one of the new arty HQ of the nocturnal Parisian intelligencia. The space is huge – 440 m² – and pulls together different rooms with specific functions. At the ground floor, the restaurant is serving a tasty – and quite pricey – cuisine, while the bar allows customers to sip a drink while waiting for their table. In the basement, a fumoir, a little video projection salon and an underground cocktail bar, all immersed in a dark atmosphere. And the must-see consists of a hidden door leading to the secret «Danish Room», only accessible to privileged member-card owners.

Very pleasant restaurant. The staff was extremely nice with us (we arrived 30 min before the reservation). Food was good and light. Prices are not exaggerated.

Perfectly pleasant place with friendly staff. The food and cocktails should have been substantially cheaper, however, considering the quality of both.
