The food is amazing and quite original. The service seems a bit harsh at first but once you get to know the boss he's a really nice guy and passionate about his job.

We were cold and tired and had been on the road too long when we arrived here for dinner. I am a bit of a foodie and spend time researching where we eat when we travel and we had just been all over Italy where we had had many wonderful meals. But this was our first dinner out in France and this was **really** special. We came at 7:30pm right as they opened for dinner. The chef was there alone and welcomed us in like we were family. Then her husband arrived with Gaspard (the world's most mellow dog) and made us feel even more welcome. She went over the menu with us dish by dish and helped us chose the best plates for us. We ordered an organic goat cheese lasagna for the kids which she split into two portions (but the half portions were huge). Quite simply and without exaggeration I can unequivocally say that hers was the best lasagna I have ever had and do not hope for better in my lifetime. It was so fresh and flavorful but also mild and almost sweet from the fresh tomatoes...even our picky kids loved it. I had the ravioli with pumpkin creme and my husband the scallops. I loved them both and found them both wholesome and delightfully tasty -- just perfect! She is a true artist and her love for cuisine shines through every aspect of this true family restaurant...really an experience of French cuisine as if at Sunday dinner with family. And we had wine plus dessert all under 90 euros. Wow. Not to be missed.

Excellent food! Great setting! Friendly service! We had lunch at this beautiful restaurant in Avignon and it was a superb experience. The owners were very friendly, attentive and the food was some of the best we have had in France.

Wonderful. I had the lamb with thyme, sage and garlic. Devine flavour balance, melt in the mouth food. The family-recipe apricot 'spoiled' cake was something else, beautifully crafted and home-style feel. If you are looking for somewhere to eat in Avignon and only have a night or 2, be sure to try here! Some of the best food I've had. Merci for the wonderful meal.

On an 11 day trip to France visiting Paris, Strasbourg and Avignon with an intent to eat well and eat often, this place delivered the best meal of the trip. 6 of us dined in a somewhat separate room and were served house made aperitifs to start. The raspberry was excellent but the champagne with violet liquor was different and very tasty as well. The raw scallop entree was very fresh and fruity with oranges, grapefruit and star fruit. My lamb was tender and flavorful and the accompanying vegetables were cooked perfectly. This is just a two person operation so if you're going in a large group (like our party of 6) you should try to plan ahead.

Best food I had while in Avignon... and France! A mix of fresh, complex flavours – delicious. We paid around €100 for two people (1 entrée, 2 mains, 1 dessert, 2 champagne cocktails and 2 glasses of wine). The portions are very well served, so if don't eat that much, might be worth sharing the entree or dessert. La Cuisine Du Dimanche is definitely a highlight.

Just had our best meal ever in France. I had the lamb and my wife the scallops - literally could not have been better. Husband is a great host and the wife is the chef - quaint reasonable and perfectly French! Don’t miss this place !

The owner does come over as unfriendly at first but once you get to know him a bit he is a great guy and the food is fantastic.
