If cash register lines are super long, you can get lucky by looking on another floor... or, find small kiosks especially near the home/kitchen section.

Great department store that covers the gym block and more across from Paris' main city hall. You find everything you want at BHV, from DIY to chinaware, bedding, books, luggages, designer perfumes and more in-between and on the sides! You even have free restaurants and coffee shops from a relatively cheap cafeteria to a deluxe tea House or burger joint. There is even a Starbucks! Most staff are extremely friendly and helpful.

I shopped here in June 2016. Went there to buy 1 or 2 outfits but ended up buying 7 pants and 3 tops and some unique cutlery. I travel a lot but this is the first store that showed me how to get the taxes back at the airport. The sales associate asked me if I want to get the taxes back and took me to the counter where u get the form. The lady who worked at the tax counter gave me a map of Paris when I told her I like maps. I'm very pleased with their customer service and the items I purchased. I get compliments when I wear the clothes I purchased from here. Can't wait to go back to lovely Paris. Merci!

Good quality products. Well known designer brands. Was tempted to go on a spending spree, but managed to control myself. Lol

Then there's the 12% tax refund discount if your purchase is over €175.

The 10% discount is awesome since I don't need to purchase over x-amount! However, there are select "red dot" items that aren't eligible for the discount.

Centrally located but seems to have lost its soul. There are some nice things, but they need to reorganize as it's too confusing and difficult to navigate. And the check-out system is a disaster - all the lines move so slowly.
Today I bought some plates and bowls and after I waited in line for a super long time and finally paid, the check-out person said that she could not wrap them up but that I had to go myself and search for someone on the floor to give me some paper.
So I wound up wandering around like an idiot carrying this stack of dishes searching for someone to help me...
I was planning to buy more stuff but the thought of waiting in line again was so off-putting that I just left the store.

I always love this place, you can find anything and consulting by very professional sales people.

There's a Starbucks on the 5th floor. And a bathroom on the same floor.
