If you like being treated like a second class citizen this is a great place to waste your money. they actually served me a much smaller 6 euro glass of wine than the French patrons. Maybe they should take a day to visit Normandy beach. And the food is the worst that we had in all of Europe. Rude to say the least.

Iconic old school French bistrot that will take you back in time. This is a chic and lively establishment that serves traditional french dishes done right.

Love this place. Love having tea there after finishing a tour in the louver museum

My wife and I were in Paris in mid August this year and overall it was great. But this place is what gives France a bad rap to outsiders. The waitress was snotty from the get go. I asked what kind of sandwiches they had besides ham & cheese and her immediate response was "ham & cheese" repeated 3 times. After we got our food she immediately gave us the bill which tells me "you can leave once you're done". When I "was done" I went in to pay and was standing right next to her waiting for her attention for at least 2 minutes. She knew I was there but ignored me until i finally said something. Then, without saying a single word to me, took my credit card and gave me my receipt. Horrible young lady. Please don't go to Le Voltaire in Paris anytime soon.

Pretty decent steak, and not hugely expensive either. Staff also quite friendly.

In an interview with the fashion designer Dorothée Vogel she called this one of her favourite restaurants.

LE VOLTAIRE is my absolute favourite restaurant ever! I lived a few houses away and came to Le Voltaire for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, always with a great welcome from Mr. Picot and Thierry and all the staff who felt like family. I miss them and always return when I go to Paris. The ambiance of refined, glamorous, and friendly elegance and the unerringly delicious cuisine are always consistent and impossible to find anywhere else. Simply the best!

We visited Paris and ordered a dinner in this restaurant. Our experience there was very bad. We ordered beef as main dish. When I cut the beef with knife, the inside of the beef is still raw, not bloody but just raw meat. Also, there is no any taste because the chef did not add any salt or any sauce. The beef was just grilled then served to us. There are some string beans came with the beef. The string beans did not have any taste either because the chef did not add any salt or sauce. The whole dish is tasteless, just totally plain. It would be a very easy job to be a chef like the one in this restaurant. We will not go to this restaurant next time. when we are in Paris.

The cafe and the sandwich were really good. But the waitress didn't give me the exchange intentionally, while their service didn't worth the 2.5 euros as tip. It gave me a very bad impression of Paris, where people treat others according to the skin color/nationality.

Essentially French! A wonderful stop for lunch, dinner or any other time while in Paris, where we spend from a week to a month each year.
