Great atmosphere even if the architecture is a bit dull. Lots of lovely food stalls as well as places to eat on site. Well worth a visit if you are in Narbonne.

A beautiful turn-of-the-century town market still thriving with fresh food stalls for local shopping. Lots of local food with great quality.

Go to eat at Bebel there. Great cheap food. Meat eater will love the spot. À real show all the way... Unique place. À must see.

Fabulously French foodie Mecca - a wonderful variety of foods with good service in a lovely environment. My advice is to take lots of cash though, as some sales stalls unfortunately did not accept card 'tap & go', or debit/credit card payment when I was there in June. More importantly still - go with a hungry belly! There are so many samples and tasty tidbits to try that you ought to allow yourself several hours to mooch around (& do check the opening hours before arriving to avoid disappointment!)... If you are lucky enough to be within sniffing distance, GO! (& have a nibble for me xx)

Big choice of fresh French fruits, vegetables, cheese, vine, meet, fish and much more.
Amazing place to be and beautiful design of the building.

Such a variety of foods all well and interestingly displayed. Sellers are helpful and prepared to explain their wares and very polite. A really good experience.

We caught the train from Perpignan and visitedes Halles and Narbonne for the first time yesterday where we spent two hours happily wandering the hallways looking and then buying interesting food and wine. Another reviewer had recommended Bebel as a place for lunch, and I think that was a popular review as people were lined up for there waiting for seats. We chose instead a Spanish tapas bar which had a very large selection of wines you could buy by the bottle or glass. Because it was close to Christmas, the Christmas markets were on across the canal and although not very busy at around 1.30pm, these provided a great place for a glass of vin chaud and some people watching. We are hoping to go back once more before we leave this area.
