4. English speaking staff seems rare...that's an issue as long as Lyon airport does not only want to serve the local residents, but also international visitors.

If it was run efficiently it would be great, as everything else is good.

1. Rhone-Express, the main public transport option to get to and from the airport, is significantly more expensive than most (if not all) other airports’ public transport options with similar travel distance.

2. Waiting areas are too small for the number of passengers. It is also almost impossible to find a charging station (plug) in the waiting area.

A beautiful new building has replaced the old temporary T3 - very impressive as you enter. Security check in worked well and
there were plenty of staff to advise. Unfortunately, the journey to the gate was still very tedious and tiring (D14) and the staff seemed less efficient. I absolutely did not like the waiting area where there were only a very few chairs and everyone else was expected to rest against the padded railings which were not at all comfortable. It was a very hot day, the incoming flight was late and after standing for an hour in a hot crowded space, I almost became ill. I know the interior is not yet complete so I certainly hope to see it improve.

Very easy access from the train station to the airport, the airport itself is quite small but every thing is well organized and you can easily get to where you want to go

Hi – I’m a frequent business and private traveller, currently residing in Lyon. It’s a real shame to say that such an amazing city is not served by an equally amaying airport. A few things that I have observed and wish to highlight:

Traffic of a major airport but the infrastructure of a small town. Long lines, inefficient staff and costly to access. Good to see renovations and modern additions but this serves nothing if it takes several hours for passengers to access a European flight. Use this beautiful airport if you must, but Account 1 hour for checkin, 1 hour for security and 1 hour for customs.

I had to pay 11 euros for only 45 minutes of parking in terminal 1. ELEVEN EUROS. disgraceful rate. Not even changing according to how long you stay. They should be ashamed to do that. Horrible rate, robbery.

There are only Starbucks and other cafes before the security check and two obscure looking bar/restaurants inside. My advice is to tank up outside before going in.

It's an okay airport so to speak, small enough to navigate around, also the shops, but boring enough if you have to wait here for a longer time.

We took the Rhône express to get in and out to the city, it was relatively painless, but beware the long walk from the terminal to the central station

Terminal 1B: ridiculous. 10' outdoor walk from RhoneExpress (hopefully it doesn't rain). Security was 4x the estimate of 10-15min. Restaurant with a menu but no food. I'd give it 0️⃣⭐ except the easy, free wifi sometimes works. Sometimes.
Update: Passport control is under staffed for the shear volume of mismanaged people who are cutting into the line to access an area that, despite basing long hauls, has absolutely no food available outside of vending machine fodder. I will never fly out of Lyon again, guaranteed.

Truly abysmal airport, 45 minutes wait to check in, 30 minutes to pass through security, 1 hour + to clear the customs. As a result all flights are massively delayed. This is the worst airport I have ever been in (including airports in Asia, Africa, South America, etc.). Unbelievable.

3. Decent food places are mostly before, not after security check. I personally like to get through security check before I relax and eat, not the other way around.

Beautiful airport with an extremely influential design to it which surpasses most airport designs in the European region. I particularly liked the nice ambience and a comfortable feeling this report provides including a good selection of chairs and cafés to spend some time while waiting for your connecting flight. Quite impressed with the bathrooms to be honest with you not that I spent too much time in there however it was very clean similar to what I've seen and some of the bathrooms and the Japanese international airports.

The worst run Airport I've ever experienced. I fly through it 2/3 times a month, 80% of the time it's unorganised and under staffed. It's a real gamble if you'll get to board your flight or not.
