A wonderful surprise this museum. Not very big but with a collection and a setting really worth the visit. There is also a restaurant/bar in its premises. Also the museum is free.

Small but interesting museum with few visitors. XVIII century furniture, paintings, ... Close to Carnavalet museum.

Like a cultural refuge from the bustle of the more visited museums of Paris, this wonderful collection is an in situ representation of turn of the century art and decor. I'm not sure why, but admission was free when I visited! Staff could not have been more friendly.

The Cognac-Jay collection of mainly 18th century art and small objects (snuff-boxes etc,) is not housed in the family home but in a similar mansion, suitably furnished. Worth a visit if in the vicinity - it is free! - and would combine conveniently with the nearby Musee Carnavalet (also free).

Art and art objects from the 18th century. It's a municipal museum so the entry fee free except for special exhibits. The museum recreates how a mansion was decorated in the 18th c. It was donated to the city by the founder of the Samaritaine department stores.
