Wow, nothing short of amazing! This is time well spent in a fantastic setting (converted train station). If you want to bring your own food, grab a bench on level 2. You'll have to check backpacks in before entering the gallery, so plan ahead! There are some eating options inside that all looked busy. Be prepared for the growing number of "click and go" gallery visitors. Sadly most of these people appear oblivious to others trying to just enjoy the art.

I couldn't stop looking at the statues. They look so real-- I must've looked like a crazy person moving side to side to see if the statues eyes were following me. Even the statues alone, I spent about a hour there.

Wish the information was printed in English as well but it's France and they have it in French and you can get audio guides if needed.

Just great. Not as large or magnificent as the Louvre, but it's a lot more manageable. The building itself--a refurbished station--is also a marvel. Get up close to Van Gogh and other impressionist, if you want. Study up on the museum before going to make it worthwhile. Take your time while there.

It has been said before but I will say it again. It is my favorite Art Museum in Paris. It is more manageable than the Louvre due to its size and the way things are laid out. I love the amount of natural light coming through the old railway station roof. The collections are beautiful and done well. It is just one of the best in the world but can be too much if you are doing a lot of art museums in one day.

The joy of this museum is that it is smaller and more approachable than the Louvre with pieces from a more modern era. It's still a world class collection but you will not find yourself lost inside, nor overwhelmed.

Visited 29.8.2017 with my wife. Collection magnificent and huge. Special Cezanne portraits exhibit very exciting. Good information on headsets. Cafe good food and service but may have line. Floor access poor. Toilet access TERRIBLE: one bathroom on 6th floor, four on ground floor - two in front, two in back, apparently only one open after 5:30 with line of forty women waiting at 5:45. Use toilet early!

One of the most engaging museums there is. Take the entire day for it. The audio guide is essential as they don't have absolutely any descriptions written in English. However, the staff do speak English and are very helpful. Has a decent café inside.

This has been my favourite museum in Paris since I first visited when I was 16. Not only is the building itself stunning, it is filled with an amazing array of artwork. It also happens to be home to my favourite painting. The entry price is more than reasonable for what you get to experience. Do buy tickets in advamce if you are visiting later in the day but I would recommend coming for opening time so you have a quite hour in the the museum.

NOTE the following ISSUES first: your city/museum pass you paid a lot of money for probably won't help you bypass the incredibly long, slow-moving line to get in, so you are going to have to wait (sometimes over an hour) to get inside. EXPECT the foregoing and then read why this is a 5-star experience and why you MUST go if you are in Paris.

An outstanding museum in the heart of Paris with a vast of exquisite arts in all shapes and forms - sculptures, paintings, furniture in a site that used to be a train Station which gives an extra elegance and charm to the place. Comfortable areas for eat, clean and accessible toilets. Easy access to public transport and location is perfect - just next to Seine River! The museum window views gives you unforgettable view of Paris.
A must visit and it can be a short trip!

I wanted to check out the other paintings and I don't know if it's because I got older and my attention span got longer but every painting made me want to stay there for hours just staring and observing every detail of it. I can't wait to go back.

if you have a real love of Arts and Crafts period of to see home furnishings visit floors 3 and 4 afterwords.

Best museum for my liking in Paris. The art is amazing, the layout of the museum is clean. Not too crowded. Some of the paintings are stunningly realistic.

Anyways, I love this museum. I wish I had enough time because by the time I arrived, I was only able to stay there for about an hour and a half. They close around 5 on a Saturday.

For the price of 10-12 euros, you can experience the history and educate your mind. (I sound like an infomercial. )

One of my favorite Paris destinations, the Orsay is an incredible collection of history and pieces to be enjoyed for years to come. I loved the accessibility of this museum as it felt as if you could really take this place in ass opposed to some place like the Louvre in which you could never consume it all. I can't imagine how they could make it any better. 5 stars!

How to visit: Take the escalator (on the far side from the entrance) up to the 5th floor and walk slowly through the Impressionist area. When you get to the end take the escalator to the second floor and walk through the rest of the paintings and sculptures.

My favourite museum in Paris. Amazing collection of art. The place itself is gorgeous. The way the old train station was transformed into a beautiful art icon is a work of art in itself.
The place wasn't busy on Saturday morning. We got there at 10am. In fact we didn't purchase tickets in advance and we went in directly.
Highly recommend Musèe d'Orsay.

Pound-for-pound this is the greatest museum in the world. PARTICULARLY if you enjoy impressionists. Start at the top and work your way down; give yourself a full day for this (relatively) small museum that is absolutely packed with incredible art, furniture, and fixtures. It is located in a converted train station and the building itself is marvelous. I would make this a priority to any trip to Paris.

All in all, I HIGHLY recommend this place if you want to check out a museum near by that isn't TOO TOO crowded. Just make sure to go with plenty of time because you probably wanna stay there for a while.

After visiting several museums in Paris, the Musée d'Orsay was definitely my favourite.
It is the place to go if you are interested in Impressionism.
The architecture of the museum (a former train station) is remarkable, just breathtaking. Its two grandiose clocks are a wonder to admire on their own.
It is highly recommended to spend some time in the top floor café where you can admire Paris through one of the clocks and enjoy a relaxed environment.
