I would definitely recommend stopping by this museum if you are in Montmartre! I enjoyed learning more about the history of the area and walking around the grounds. I went during an exposition on Montmartre in cinema which I really loved. The exposition will be going on until 14 Jan 2018. I went in mid Nov so the garden wasn't as lush but there was no crowd.

So big, can spend days here! Go there with a painting in mind and try to find it on your own!

The entrance fee of €11 (adult) is robbery and definitely not worth it. This place should be free admission, it's a state museum so is getting subsidized and yet they are charging an enormous entry fee for what is really a very small gallery. There are much better places you can spend your €11 in Paris. Avoid, until it is free to enter.

Less art than advertised, primary a historical museum about the hedonistic "vie boheme" that consumed Montmartre in the late 1800's. Interesting background to the famous or infamous artists of that time.

Real treat, trip to Montmartre of 19th century. Vigneyard and wild garden around it. Renovated atelier of Susan Valandon and a new exhibition space tell us more about "les impressionnistes, " and life full of passion around them. Nice café and souvenirs shop, but bring the treats of your own and spend half day daydreaming around. Cach a frog in the pond !

The museum is nice, but when I visited it an important part was closed due to a private event: the gardens. No one warned me about this (there was only a sign among other signs that I did not see). When I inquire about this they said the garden was not a part of the exhibition (even though it is clearly featured as such on the outside) the guy I talked to was rude and did not care at all about my complaint. I left the museum with a bitter taste u wished I had gone another day to visit the gardens, but these people seem to think that this kind of info is not relevant for a foreigner that may not come again to Paris. A real shame.

A nice small museum, its collection is valuable to the local area, but not of international importance. There is a cafe and a toilet.

A favourite place of mine. The gardens and courtyard are tranquil. It is a good museum to walk around away from the busyness of the big museums. Area surrounding is lovely too, and worth exploring!

Charming place with some very beautiful quiet gardens and an extensive collection about Montmartre. It has become one of my favourite places in Paris.

What a fantastic treasure in the heart of Montmartre! Art and history in a perfect setting. Don't miss the gardens and the vineyard.

What a great surprise this was! We went because we read about a exposition they were having and so we stop by just to see that and not expecting much else.. But were very happy to find that the museum itself it well run and exceptionally set up. Very informative about the history of the area and all the colorful people that make/made it up.

Lovely experience! The story of Suzanne Valadon gives a good impression of what Montmartre must have been back then. The movies exhibition was also quite interesting. Best part about it are the gardens though. Since Montmartre is very crowded it is very relaxing to be able to sit on the grass in a quiet environment immediately nearby!
