The Cocteau exhibition space was closed today 9-11-17 and the staff member at the desk claims the closure was noted on the web site. It was not. She was not helpful regarding alternative activities for someone from 3500 miles away.

The ticket price includes a visit to the Bastion museum which has a collection of Cocteau's "The Fisherman and the Girl", as well to the Palais de l'Europe which has more modern art displayed. The staff is friendly and professional, and also gave a summary of Jean Cocteau's life to us as almost everything in the museum is in French. The museum has an upper and lower floor with paintings and various exhibitions of Cocteau's work. The most famous exhibit is Andy Warhol's tribute art work to Jean Cocteau. I was expecting a bit more from the visit, as there were not much information for non-french speakers, but it is worth a visit.

Very interesting exhibition of Dufy upstairs and Cocteau downstairs. Definitely worth going to see.
