We love to come here - usually for my birthday each year and have now bought an annual pass so we can visit whenever we can. The layout of the parc is lovely with plenty of space to picnic or rest, with a fantastic collection of animals - all which look well cared for and happy. I particularly love the black gibbon who puts on a wonderful display for us each time we see him ! A wonderful place for anyone who loves animals.

Ce parc animalier est évidemment à visiter si vous êtes dans le Limousin, ne serait-ce que pour encourager le tourisme et les activités dans cette région trop désertée.
Néanmoins, nous ne cacherons pas notre déception. A décharge, nous avons visité ce parc animalier un jour de chaleur, à l'heure où les animaux font la sieste à l'ombre.
Quand la politique écologique du zoo est de laisser pousser la végétation pour que les animaux, déjà en captivité, se sentent dans une nature "non altérée par l'homme", ils dorment alors entre les herbes hautes, et on ne les voit pas, à moins d'attendre qu'ils se réveillent. C'est le gros point négatif du parc, pour moi (d'autres personnes peuvent trouver ça bien) : il convient d'équilibrer la balance entre le bien-être effectivement primordial des animaux, et la nécessité urgente de faire appel à des paysagistes pour que les visiteurs puissent apprécier la vue générale du parc, et surtout apercevoir les animaux (ce pourquoi ils sont venus). Car ce sont bien les recettes des visiteurs qui financent son entretien.
Aussi, le sens de la visite est un peu labyrinthique et parfois pas très bien étudié : sur 100 hectares, il convient de passer / repasser par plusieurs sentiers caillouteux pour voir certaines zones, comme celle des primates qui est située entre deux lacets principaux. Primates que nous n'avons d'ailleurs pas vus en raison de la végétation luxuriante.
Certains enclos sont aussi totalement vides.
Pour toutes ces raisons, nous n'avons pas eu l'impression finale d'avoir vu 600 animaux et 120 espèces comme promis. Tout au plus, 200 animaux et 50 espèces (dont des oiseaux et des animaux de la ferme).
Le tarif de 16€ est convenable comparé à d'autres parcs animaliers, mais reste un budget familial important pour la région, ça monte vite quand on est plusieurs. Il y a aussi une petite guinguette où les boissons en canette sont vendues aussi chères qu'au cinéma.
En conclusion : impression donc mitigée, mais j'ai passé une bonne après-midi, je veux rester optimiste et j'encourage cette entreprise à s'améliorer, et les touristes à visiter ce parc hors norme pour se faire leur propre idée.

The worst thing for me was seeing some animals either injured or in, what I consider, inadequate enclosures. The raccoon looked very unstimulated and his enclosure was very unnatural. One of the ducks, one of the capybaras and the rail had some sort of leg injuries. The crested crane had a grotty enclosure (although he seemed happy enough), the one rhino looked like he would like a rhino companion, 2 parrots were looking sad in a dark cage behind the other parrots, and the owls looked scared and annoyed at being shut in a dark barn where everyone (except me) shouts, bangs on the glass and uses a flash camera at them. Obviously, this is very much the minority as there are 550+ animals apparently, but even seeing a few sad animals for whatever reason, is not pleasant.

What's good - it's easy to find, plenty of parking space, entrance price/food was reasonably priced, nice location, most of the signs are in English (I speak French anyway), no litter and when I went, although there were quite a lot of visitors, it didn't feel crowded. The petting zoo area with the goats was good fun and very popular. The coatis have a fun enclosure where the visitor can see them up close.

I've visited a lot of zoos in various countries, so although I enjoyed my day at Reynou, it could've been better in numerous ways...

What's bad - many of the animals are very difficult to see as they are behind a lot of dense wire and electric fencing or have lots of hiding places in their enclosures. I didn't see any wolves, maned wolves, cheetah, puma, panther, serval, half the monkeys, raccoon, hardly saw the lions, tigers or giraffes as they were so far away. There is a "feeding times" list at the entrance, but I never noticed it as it was facing backwards, and so I didn't see any of the animals being fed. The map wasn't great, and would have been better with feeding times written on it. The (men's) toilets were just about ok. The shop was rather small, expensive and uninteresting. The chateau looks great on the brochures, but is semi-derelict and visitors cannot go inside. The "sens de visite" is confused and people come in all directions. The lake area looks wonderful but unfortunately has hardly any animals there, apart from a few geese that I never saw.

Great little zoo. Animals in mostly large pens. Look well cared for.

This is a nice zoo that offers good views on several animals; even some big ones like lions. Amongst the pathway you will find plenty of playgrounds and places for picnic. The red panda, who is not caged, is one of the biggest surprises you can find here. Two downsides of this zoo: some of the cages are rather small for the big animals they house and it is quite hard to buy food inside the zoo so bring your picnic basket with you.

We came here with Limoges family pass and had a great time! I like the fact that they give big fields and spacious environment to the animals. The animals look healthy and in good condition. Strolling inside makes me feel like this zoo really cares about their animals. The scenery is beautiful. The zoo keepers are friendly. Highly recommend for a sunny day!

Definetly should bring water and a picnic.

Hard to get into the park but great food and lovely animals. The little deer was very friendly!

I appreciate their efforts at Reynou which has the potential to be a really great zoo, but it's not quite there yet.
