The city of love may be a little mainstream to plan a proposal but the indefinable air or Paris communicates romance. Anywhere in Paris is romantic and meaningful so whatever place you choose for conducting the proposal it will mean a lot.

I love and I hate this station. First you have to pay to use the bathroom, which personally I find outrageous. Then you've got the trains themselves which are all heading towards Lyon so that kind of balances things out. Oh and you can recharge your phone here, so long as you're willing to pedal for it.

I travelled from Zurich to Paris and back by TGV through this station. Quite crowded and pretty chaotic. Can be intimidating for the first time traveller. But you reality Very well organized. Orderly taxi rank just outside the main building managed by the police.

We hated this station; It was like being stuck in a nightmare. Leave yourself at least 30 minutes to change trains here. There is very little signage, where there is a sign it often leads to dead ends. If you go to information and ask for help they point to the sign. Yup the same sign you have followed 3X previous which leads to a dead end. We spent 30 minutes lost looking for our left luggage lockers. Found it the first time easily. But entered at a different entrance upon return and it was darn near impossible to find.
This lead us to the poor organization of French trains. They do not post your departure platform , on the boards, until 30 minutes prior to departing ( 20 minutes for our train.) So picture this stepping into a train station and fining hundreds of people just standing there staring motionless at the departure boards. WAITING! Waiting for their departing trains platform number to finally be posted. Then suddenly hundreds of people run to their train. So no matter how early you are, or how organized you wish to be, you are forced to wait for the French train platform to be posted prior to departure. So you have briskly found your platform, at the last minute. Now you wait for the train to pull up to find your wagon. Long trains can easily take 10 mins to walk from front to back of train; did I mention some trains are only in the station for 3 minute. If you are disabled in anyway Avoid French Trains! especially this station!

A posh station. Everything is very well organized. But requires extension. As the capacity is not enough to accommodate people arrive there.

A good and clean metro and RER station. This is one of the larger main stations in Paris, and provides easy transportation to most of the city parts, as well as to trains going south and south-east.
Technically, this station is supposed to be accessible for the disabled, but the escalators and elevators tend to break down from time to time (too often, in my opinion), which makes it a little complicated.

Large station, easy to get around. A hub for regional and high speed trains and it feed directly into the metro too. Ticket machines for the metro take a little while longer to read credit cards.

Big, beautiful station full of history and remarkably efficient. The Train Bleu restaurant is absolutely gorgeous, with wonderful food for the (moderately high) price.

One star for the architecture. Trains are fantastic.
''Tis station does not have enough seats. People coming up to you begging every 5 minutes. When you have luggage it is pretty bad to have to find 80c in coins and go through a turnstile to go to the toilet. Come on France you can do better than this. Old men greeting each other with kisses cheered me up.
