My wife and I went to the Duchess Anne last year during a short stay in St. Malo. The food was wonderful and so was the service, absolutely top notch. Yes it was more expensive than most other places, but boy was it worth it. As we went off season, I really think most of the restaurants local to the Duchess Anne would have done better considering it was wonderfully quiet, but they were not. We ended up going to the Duchess Anne for Sunday lunch and two evening meals. We also requested the Tarte Tatin for pud and weren't disappointed, it wasn't even on the menu. So if you like attentive service, quality food and presentation, a bit of old world charm and don't mind paying a little more, this is the place for you. When we book our next trip to St. Malo in October, this will be our first port of call. Highly Recommended

C est toujours un plaisir pour nous de venir déjeuner à la Duchesse Anne . Les années passent et on ne s' en lasse pas ! Rien à redire sur le service , parfait !

Pretentious ..clean.,lovely wash basin, service was good but the food and wine mediocre. I had chef's terrine which was greasy and lacked any wow factor. I also had chef's recommendation (tuna) at an extra 3 euros over the 24 euro Allet menu. It was essential than good. The tart of apple and something was fine.
I cannot recommend this restaurant

Pretentious and inconsiderate of it's clients while the food is generally ok. Last night they insisted on our enduring a cold wind coming in through the opened front door, although the restaurant was turning away diners without reservations. Then, the service, they delivered my companions dinner while I had to wait for a waiter out of sight to debone my fish. Outrageous. And on top, there were multiple bones. I will not go there again
