Pricey but pleasant enough. A safe bet if you're after fishy french food in a relaxed maritime themed restaurant. Everything was OK and staff were warm and friendly. Fish soup was like a bisque and very tasty. Varied and interesting choice of mains - something for everyone.

Nice restaurant with very good food quality. Ok, for those, who can not or do not want to eat fish and seafood, the meat quality could be improved. Perfect service!!! But decoration is too touristic. More elegance would be perfect.

Great seafood restaurant with service in the old french style. Well presented and fresh seafood served by people who know their trade well. A definite visit again is in order

Great place and fine food in LA Rochelle. Place was packed with citizens of LA Rochelle... Anything else to tell?

Fantastic food. We took a break from the shellfish and ate tuna & cod steaks - both utterly delicious. A bit too expensive though - a main and half a bottle of wine was €40 per person.

Good for seafood but little else.Keep away in the summer. Has the most expensive sole in La Rochelle.

Great seafood and good location for a reasonable price. Not cheap but reasonable for the quality

Pricy but the best seafood we tried in La Rochelle. In the room we were, plenty of space on and between tables. We were offered a sprig of lily if the valley on the 1st of may. Staff very polite. Nicely decorated with attention to detail. Will definitely come back there

Excellent restaurant at a small and cosy square at the harbor. This is the place to be when you love fresh sea food in the right setting.

Friendly atmosphere in this vast brasserie-style restaurant said to be the place to have the best seafood. The service was very friendly, the dessert amazingly good and the price, for a town like La Rochelle was moderate to slightly higher. I'd recommend it if you want fresh, well-prepared seafood or fish.

I used to enjoy the place by the past, appreciating both the food and the ambiance.
During peak seasons in July and August, the experience may turn to be frustrating.
You will likely have to wait 30 to 40 minutes before ordering any food without being provided any water or bread and butter to patient quietly. If you explain politely that waiting time has been a bit long, you will face an angry waiter who tells you he has to take care of a load of people and to patient quietly, before complaining about how tired he is. No apologies. No smiles.
Food is still good and location fine.
To be honest, I have been to the place a dozen of times. It now acts as a local institution more focused on its own importance than its customer experience. Not for me anymore. So many other nice places around with awesome food and very pleasant staff.
