Beautiful views of Paris as seen in the photos. A nice temple in the heart of Paris. There are a fair amount of stairs be warned! A harpist was playing while I was there last, very romantic even on an overcast day. Attracts a fair amount of tourists too.

The cathedral is gorgeous inside and out. Very beautiful architecture. I do find it curious that there is a gift shop filled with knick knacks inside of a place of worship. Kinda seems out of place.

Fantastic place. Beautiful building an an amazing view of Paris. But watch out for the string men who hang around at the bottom of the steps. Keep your hands by your sides. The guy I got was fast and wouldn't let go. Don't let it put you off going. They are not always there. Just be careful. I went in the evening. I avoided them on the way down via the funicular railway.

1. There's an aggressive bunch of men who linger around the entrance. I observed them. They try to make a quick buck by literally "roping" you in with string. They try to tie string around your fingers and make you pay them to take it off. Stay clear of them. Really don't understand how the police aren't doing anything about them.

What I annoyed about this place:

NOTE: the Museum pass does not get you to the rotunda. Other than that, it's a beautiful building, inside and out, and the hill its on offers a lovely view of the city. The area west of the church, Montemarte is a great place for a wander. Lot's of fun for a photographer. Easily one of the highlights of my trip.

Great basilica view of Paris from there is stunning the artists in the Plaza gives you the feeling of Paris the food is more than average and the people are polite. As always you have to be careful of thieves.

Definitely a place to visit with stunning views of metropolitan Paris. However, watch out for the scams in this area. The string guys are very aggressive. They will block your way, then proceed to grab your wrist, arm; be assertive and don't let them touch you.

The church is beautiful and it stands on a hill overlooking the city so the view is fantastic. You can get the funicular up the hill if you don't fancy the walk. We were hassled on the steps by people trying to sell things which is a nuisance but not unique to this part of Paris or indeed anywhere, and the best thing to do is ignore them. There is a little train which stops outside the church and although it looks like it's for kids we recommend it. It's a great way to see the Montmartre area and costs only 6 euros.

A huge and beautiful Cathedral. Good place to visit. Also it is located on the top of Montmartre Hill. You can see the beautiful view of Paris city.

2. The hawkers will try and sell you beer and cigarettes etc. Stay clear of them. Be very cautious...they look dodgey.

Absolutely beautiful basilica! The architecture is stunning and the building itself is amazing, however the best part is the atmosphere around it. There is a hill with a couple routes up and tons of people taking pictures and hanging out in front. A must-see.

The church itself and the area at the top with the markets is beautiful and a really is a must visit. You get a spectacular view of Paris from the top.

The steps and winding paths in the front grounds are stunning, but unfortunately are absolutely ruined by the people that hang around there. Large groups of horrible characters stop tourists and search their pockets in broad daylight. Don't stop or accept anything from anyone here. There needs to be more security here to stop this from happening.

Very nice church: simple and white outside with wonderful shapes, magnificent inside. It is also very well served by funicolars, if you do not want to climb up the hill, and the entrance is totally free.

Also avoid this area at night. Not the safest place to be at.

I truly loved the church and i truly loved the view. However, very sadly, i must point out that i got mugged by the black string men, who literally took out money from my wallet. The police absolutely did nothing, which was a shame. Therefore, i will not recommend this place to some one who is not french.

Lovely basilica. It has an excellent view of Paris, a great garden and a romantic atmosphere.
Beware of the tourist scams - some men might trick you into put a string bracelet to your wrist claiming it's free, and once that it's tied out they will ask you for money.

A must go in Paris! Take you time to walk upstairs, and turn around frequently... You will discover a different view each time.
Once inside, avoid the noisy crowds of tourists, just take a seat and observe in silence the place. It's a peaceful experience (no matter your religious belief)

This is a "must see" in Paris. It's a church on top of a hill that offers great views of the city. The church itself is great to look at. The best time to go in the summer would be around sunset. The vibe is fantastic- there's so many people around. People sit on the steps on the way up to the church and view the sun setting over Paris. You'll only have to pay to travel there. There's no other costs involved.
