Serre Rd Cemetery No2 is the largest British Cemetery on The Somme. At the end of the war there were nearly 500 soldiers buried here. Then, through a process called 'concentration', many more soldiers' bodies were moved here after the war, from makeshift graves around the region. There are over 7,000 buried here now. Designed by British architect Sir Edwin Lutyens, it is a respectful place, very well cared-for. There is a visitors book in the portico and there's plenty of parking.

Very moving place. All the cemeteries in this area are beautifully looked after by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission.
