We had a terrible experience trying to hire from this shop. We paid a deposit online to find, when we arrived, that they didn't have the length of skis that we needed. The shop argued that we didn’t need that length of skis, despite the fact that two of our party had ski-toured on them for the previous two years. We were offered skis with holes in them while claiming (later admitting) that the skis had been serviced, when they clearly had not. There was no help with my boot fitting, challenging my suggestion that they felt too small, (“But they’re your size”), didn't offer more than one brand of boot despite me saying quite clearly that neither size felt quite right, then when I called them half an hour after leaving the shop to say we wouldn't be hiring their equipment, I was told we couldn't have our 75 euros deposit back. The manager was aggressively rude to the point of racist, saying I spoke a 'strange language' and threatening to speak in French so I wouldn’t understand him. I was told our deposit would go towards taking up his time when I was giving him feedback on the lack of service we had received. I was also told very clearly that there was no refund on deposits made online, whatever service or equipment offered in person. Everyone should be warned not to risk putting a deposit down on hiring from this shop. There are plenty of other fantastic places to hire in Chamonix and no-one should have to go through the experience we did.

I came with my family Early january and found a good atmosphere here, no stress or hassle as other skirentals and very convenient too with easy access directly inside the Chamois blanc building. Ski bus across the street.

My family ski Chamonix a lot and we always use SkiLoc for rental, because of the friendly service, good choice of gear of all types so you can get the right skis for you, and excellent English. They are conveniently situated right across from the main ski bus stop and parking. Prices are fair, they are child friendly and there is never any nonsense on return.
