We really enjoyed this museum and feel it is under recognized. This museum is large and contains so much. You can see armor of all varieties even some from other countries. There are a few of the past Kings armor and some from when they were boys. The weapons are so detailed and ornate and we spent a great deal of time here and are so glad we came.

Napoleon's tomb is cool and all, but I found the exhibits way more interesting... especially the medieval ones and the WWI exhibit.

Other than that it is a lovely building and the exhibits are very well laid out, you do not get lost or have to branch off to see everything. I PERSONALLY PREFER A LINEAR EXPERIENCE IN MUSEUMS.

It'll take about 4-6 hrs to see everything with the audioguide, so arrive early and plan on spending the entire day here if you want to get the most out of it. There are cafes and stuff inside as well.

Excellent museum. No crowds. Very extensive collection of medieval era, Napoleonic era, and the modern era's weaponry, armor, and other French war artifacts. Layout is great, staff is very friendly, and the exhibits are very informative.

If you are a fan of anything military related, you need to visit this place. To be honest though I think there would be something in here to attract everyone. We saw less than half of what they had and it was great. My boyfriend really enjoyed seeing the WWI and WWII exhibitions, and getting to see and hear about the wars from a French perspective. I enjoyed seeing all the uniforms of the different countries and squadrons, as well as looking at the various styles of propaganda used thtoughout the wars.

Perfect museum for those who like history and warfare. The museum itself its lost in time, and the moment when you enter till the exit is an awesome time travel. Without any doubt, one of the best museums and building in Paris.

Fantastic. If you are a fan of history this is a MUST. We ended up going kinda by accident. It was one of my favorite museums in Paris. Wonderfully extensive exhibits. Very well laid out.

Very fascinating and grand museum, with tons of history and education. There is something here for everyone, with exhibits ranging from Middle Ages to WWII. Napoleon's Tomb was also imposing and quite imperial. I've seen pictures of it many times, but those photographs don't do the place justice. Seeing the grandeur in person took my breath away.

10 min wait. Pay for the audio tour-it explains a lot about the tomb area and some good info in the museum part. Allow 3 hours to get a good view. Really enjoyed this

We spent an entire day going through the available museums in this campus. There's a lot to see. A lot. Just when we thought we're done, we'd happen upon another corridor lined with more items and weapons. I won't lie, after a while it all blended together, but we still enjoyed it.

Really cool military museum, and also houses the tomb of Napoleon. An amazing sight, the tomb in the chapel under a dome surrounded by bas reliefs of his accomplishments. The museum has a great collection of antique arms and armor, as well as a decent world war tour (both 1 and 2) but pales in comparison to the imperial wat museum in London. Nonetheless, it is a huge and impressive structure with a great collection and worth your time to tour (located within Les Invalides)

An unknown gem. Incredible review of the history of Europe and the tools used in wars over the years. We spent four hours here. It's really a spectacular place with well-designed exhibits that focus on both the military as well as the economic and cultural impacts and causes for war over the centuries. Personal favorite: the many sets of armor used by Louis XIII (XIV?) as he was growing up. It looked like a garage sale yet told a frightening story at the same time.

If you answer yes to any one of the questions, this is the place for you. Devote at least 4 hours if you are not planning to make a speed run (which I do not recommend).

This Museum is a must if you have an interest in military or Napoleonic history - it is amazing! It includes Napoleon's tomb and France's complete military history. Set aside an entire day if you want to see it fully. There is a great gift shop and eatery however the Noel Markets were on when we visited so we drank mulled wine and cheese baguettes! Do expect to have all your bags searched upon entry - this is the norm now in France. You will need to have your ticket scanned each time you enter a different exhibit and you may have your bags checked again. It is a large museum and like most has rotating exhibits. Currently it is the Secret Wars.

Amazing museum! One of the best displays I have ever seen put together. My only regret is not allotting enough time to see everything.

One problem was a great majority of the info regarding the exhibits were in French only. You would get the name in French, English, German etc., but the explanation part would be in just French. I used Google Translate instant translation to some extent, but this is definitely a shortcoming for this place.

Exhibits were slightly limited due to the space, but they did show some unique things from French history. Napoleon tomb was also breathtaking.
