At La Charité we stayed in an excellent self-contained apartment called La Petite Maison d'Artiste, on the hill behind the church. Sylvie is a welcoming host - intelligent, knowledgeable and speaking excellent English. She can recommend the best places to eat. She even had a full tool-kit to help us service our bikes (we were on a cycling holiday along the Loire). The gîte is well-located, within a two-minute walk of the ramparts with a spectacular view over the old town and across the valley of the Loire. Thoroughly recommended.
