Very basic, terminal way too small for rhe flight we were on which was ryanair to Stansted. Half the people had to stand in the departure lounge. Having said that its a small price to pay for the convenience of flying from Tours to London, rather than having to use a Paris airport.

This has to be the worst airport I have ever had the misfortune to fly in or out of. The staff are a total disgrace lacking any form of compassion or empathy for travellers. You're packed into a room so small sardines would call it cramped!!
Then there is the fact that for some reason everything has to be done manually and one aircraft at a time! This airport obviously doesn't realise we are in the 21st century and having more than one aircraft in at a time causes a complete meltdown.
If you value your sanity you will stay away.

This is a nightmare of an airport (un cauchemar). The room was packed with people trying to get through security. Everyone must queue for a long time. The staff are rude. My Passport was checked 4 times. Many bags were searched slowly, everyone must take off their shoes. Even though there were two people at airport police, only one was checking passports (very slowly). The other stared into space or looked at the long queue. Why is this airport so disorganised and why do the staff not care at all about the customer experience? It's really one of the worst airports I've been through.

Yes the airport is small, but it has virtually no facilities. Coffee shop was closed, even though staff behind the counter just chatting and about 100+ people waiting around for the next flight.

Mine was not a good experience due to info and facilities available. If you are a regular flyer to this airport it is fine if you can dash in and out.
Airport Facilities - Arrivals and Departures
Very small café/bar for arrivals/departure - approx 20 seats.
I did not see a shop and nowhere to get information other than where you collect your bags (very small area) with lots of leaflets and a tourist map for the area - grab one.
Departures - once you have checked in, the only facilities are a coffee and soft drinks machine in departure lounge. Seating for limited. Do not arrive too early. They ask if you have any food or drinks when you go through security - I had crisps and they let me keep them - others had sandwiches so I assume you can take them through...?? It recommends 1.5 hours we arrived short of that and our flight was delayed so ended up sitting on the floor with others.
Arrivals - Shortly after the Ryanair flight arrives (main airline to/from this airport) it states there is a bus to take passengers to Tours centre. However, our flight was delayed by 15 mins and took around 20 mins for baggage. There was a bus but he said not passengers and there were no other buses and no info if there was one due and no taxis outside.
My recommendation for onwards travel
Car Hire - the cost for a week is the same as for 3 days once you arrive - book in advance!
Taxi - approximately 10-15 mins to centre of Tours - there were none parked outside - you will have to pre-book
Tram - the tram station is approximately 10-15 mins walk - dragging a case may be a little longer. There are no directions from the entrance/exit to show you which way to walk (exit) and no footpaths - although it is a quiet road. Directions to tram station approx. 10-15 mins walk: Once outside entrance/exit - there is a bus area to the left (check with bus if one there) and taxi area to right - no taxis. Directly in front there is a large car park with a small hire car building - if pre booked. Walk towards this building and then down along the side over the grass heading towards the left far end of the car park which is the entrance/exit is - 5 mins. Then follow this road (stay on the left-hand side - eventually there will be a footpath) down to the roundabout, staying on the pavement. At the roundabout walk to your left and there is a zebra crossing - cross the road at the crossing then follow the roundabout around to the next exit and cross at the crossing again. If you walk a little way down to your left after crossing there is a crossing straight through the car park - keep walking and to your left is the tram station. Stay on the side you arrive and the tram to Tours is 1.50 euro - approx. 20-25 mins to Tours centre.

Could easily be a really nice little airport, but seems they don't want to make the effort.

Small and cramped airport. Make sure to print your tickets because they will charge if u didn't. Bad experience..

Small airport but perfectly adequate. Friendly staff, free parking, flights to/from Stansted, Porto, Dublin, Marrakesh and Marseille. Serves its purpose.

Coffee vending machine was also broken.

By far the worst airport I've ever been to. No transport to/from the airport, no information, no staff. This place is a disgrace and has cost me a fortune in missed trains and having to book hotels etc.
