Fabulous place and scenery to wander in Marseille, lovely fishing boats in the harbour and views of Fort St Jean. Very charming and always full of life.

Alwaus bustling with people and lots of food options. The views are nice too. Cleanliness could be better though.

Beautiful port with plenty of bars, cafés & restaurants around. Great for walking & jogging (but not swimming!)

Very busy. Lots of places to eat and reasonably priced hotels. Many places to visit, such as the soap museum, the museum of European and Mediteranean Civilizations and you can take a ferry to Chateau d'if. There is also a ferry service to take you across the port from one side to another. There are a few places to buy t-shirts and soap, for which Marseille is famous. But there a very few ATMs. We walked for quite a while to find one. Being a non smoker it was quite challenging as it seems that nearly everyone smokes. Even in restuarants while dining! Everything comes with a side of smoke... We just could not get away from it. Still, a good place for a brief visit.
