The history of the town of Albert and the battles of the WW1 on the Somme are explained in detail here. A great place to take kid to learn about the sacrifice of so many during WW1.

Impressive building and story about it.
We didn't visit the museum but we probably should have. The displays in the entry hall of the visitors center is already very great presented. Take your time here for about 1,5h.

Visiting this location certainly opened my eyes up to what the service personal went through during the great war it's well worth a visit.

great place to visit anytime of year bright cheerful setting with clear information inside & out
commonwealth war graves have stand with helpful staff that also can help you look up relatives on data base
lovely gift shop & rest rooms
The vast monument is in a wonderful setting which is both moving & uplifting
Always so sad & dignified to think so many names have no known graves but we still wish to honour them with our own personal visit
