Their insurance policy is a straight up scam. For €15 a day they offer a €700 maximum deductible in case of damage on the car. Only thing, they insist on interpreting this as you must pay €700 regardless of how big or small the damage is. So if you make a damage costing €200 or even just €10 in repairs, they will still charge your credit card the full €700. Meaning that paying extra for an insurance might actually put you in a WORSE position in case you make a scratch. Can not recommend this rental company.

Excellent service! Location is great very close to the ferry port. Our car was right on location. Administration was fast in less than 5 minutes we was on the road. Highly suggest Barthloc Car Rental.

Barthloc your response is positively insulting as was your presence at your premises. Alcohol was not involved in any way as you suggest. Upon our arrival to return the car, your office was closed when it was advertised as being open. Therefore we parked the car in your own cleaning bay which had no signs up whatsoever to tell us otherwise. By the time you returned we were already running late for the ferry however, we still settled our bill in the office before leaving in a hurry. Upon our arrival in St Martin the incident was reported to the local Gendarmerie. This will be my last comment as I am not getting into a public debate. My last word on the matter is: please be careful about hiring a vehicle from Barthloc.

Apparently, calling at 9:30 PM stuck on a dark road in the middle of the night was an awful idea to the owners. I was never treated like that in my life. Being cursed out and yelled at without even being listen to was absolutely the worse customer experience ever. Do not rent an electric car in St Barth unless you just want to go one way somewhere. A waste of time to plug and wait about 3 to 4 hours to recharge the batteries. The owners, a couple, can't even sound decent in their shop. They argue and look angry at each other.... Good luck to them however one tip: DO Not get stuck cause assistance is non existent.
