The grand Hotel Du Louvre is a beautiful old building, with a stunning little court yard behind. The staircase up to the rooms is very impressive however the room itself was on the poorer side of rustic. The beds were comfortable but one of the curtains was off its runners and looked as if it had been for a while. The bathroom was fine on first inspection however when I went to have a shower I found the shower head holder had been broken off and there was a crack in the enclosure so I opted for a sink wash instead. The staff were very helpful and the location was excellent but the room let it down. There was myself and my husband and two children in the room.

Was a good night's sleep, breakfast was extra and WiFi was poor, overall an average experience

Il est de ces établissements que l'on déniche un peu au hasard. Ce hasard fut surprenant agréablement. Le lieu pittoresque, les aménagements un peu surprenants, un service de restauration absolument délicieux. Arrêtez vous si vous êtes curieux et simple dans votre façon de vivre un séjour à l'hôtel.

The room was tired with broken curtains and a broken shower hook. The location is nice and the town was lovely. The hotel itself was quite ruin down. That said we did have a good night's sleep which was all we wanted after the ferry.

Well, I booked after seeing the photos of the rooms. Unfortunately they only showed 8 photos and we were in room 15! It was cramped and poorly furnished. The shower room was a disgrace. To get into the cubicle was a squeeze and it was dirty. There was black mould at the junction of the screen and the tray - I ran a towel over it and it was BLACK with dirt. The shower head was broken off also. My wife refused to use the shower, it was too difficult to get into.
Had I not made a credit card commitment I would have walked away. The restaurant menu was limited and expensive.
I guess we must have been unlucky or our standards higher as I read several glowing reports.
